I didt realise that logging during a fight would have helped me out or I would have done that, maby things have changed but when I have done this in a PvE fight my shilp still takes damage and dose not move, however this is different when I am not engaged direclty.

I think people can learn. I also think that people will avoid learning if there's no obvious reason to do so.
Seriously, this is the underlying core of my hostility towards being able to endlessly grind level 4s in hi-sec. Yes there are serious economic issues and all that, but the real problem is that it encourages and rewards lazy, ignorant play. This guy seriously believed he was safe because he was in hi-sec. Of course that's not true, but the situation where he could reasonably assume that this was the case needs to be looked at. I echo the call above for the tutorial to ram this lesson home. Repeatedly. New players should be aware from DAY ONE (or however long it takes to do the tutorial these days) that there is no "PvP free" zone, only more or less restricted PvP - and that they NEED to understand the law in the "restricted" areas.

Won't work if you are warp scrambled. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I had a DC when being warp scrambled by NPC's at some point, I get back in only to witness my mission boat being blown up. It hadn't moved an inch.)

This is a much better post than the OP.
I strongly encourage you to join a PvP corp for a little while, (even if only with an alt - faction warfare would be ideal) so that you can learn how things actually work. The skills and knowledge that you gain will stand you in good stead whatever profession you engage in, even mission running.

What I beleave is missions should be private unless you invite some one in via "fleet", high sec playing is very different to low sec, thats why the two worlds exist.
Do they loose security status comming into a mission and stealing loot and if so how much can they steal before something tips the ballence for concord to come in?
This game is an MMO, space simulator, so you are saying (if we could venture beyond our world effectively) that while you work in the region about Titan (jupiters moon) no one else must pass through this area of space or be able to use their sophistcated scanning equipment to see if there is any prospective ores or things of interest there?
There are not TWO WORLDS< where do you get this from, not in any game notes. One server, One realm, all for all, and MOAR FOR ME. You cant segregate space. Your beliefs have no place in an MMO, gbtwow, or buy freelancer if you want to rage against the machine.

Nothing is in place to stop 20 people from doing that. I myself am a missionrunner in caldari space ( yes another one of those ), the short of it could be to find a place with less people in it, the less "sheep" there is in a system running missions the less reason there is for those who live to scan out mission runners and ransom/kill them to be there. Motsu and places like that is certain to have a lot of groups scanning out runners because they have a lot of targets in places like that.

Only mandatory if you feel people can't learn. Personally I'd prefer to see new players stick around and learn rather than be put off by a bunch of hate-filled trolls pretending to be a community of gamers - but that's just me.
How is your 'he can't possibly ever learn, I can troll his post & insult him' attitude any better than his 'I want to whine, the game didn't do what I thought it did' attitude?
Sure, I'd like to not see whiny complaints as well, and a bit more humility on the part of all players, but sadly this doesn't seem to happen. Which is better, to try and improve that, or take it as an excuse to insult others?
Forgive me for attempting to inject courtesy into a forum, I really should have known better.
Actually, I do feel that people have the potential to learn. I'm always happy to answer any question or fill in any gaps in knowledge of game mechanics etc. However EVE gets a lot of new players who give the game a go, even more so with the retail version and publicity it's been getting. The difference is, some of the posts made ask genuine questions, and accept that their knowledge of the game is lacking, and then seek information to rectify it. However, some people come in here, and start demanding that the game be changed in favour of how THEY would like it to be. As you have seen by the further replies of the OP, he is set in his belief that the game SHOULD be how he thinks it is, and not accepting that it isn't.
I'd rather see new players stick around than have hate-filled players whining and demanding changes to a game to suit them. As an example I've bolded parts of his replies that are relevant:

Originally by: SwordKnight I know a lot of good work has been put in to give people that want PvP kicks to do recelent with the addition of Mulisha and Wormholes, but realy people should beable to just do what they want to do and sometimes that means not getting botherd my other people who are out to ruin there game, I would't crash my car into someone else in realy life for a kick I would go to a dearby and do it, theres a time and place for it and a 0.9 sec mission ist it.
Originally by: Sword Knight If CCP dont want to change concord how about giving a cool down a max of 15 or 30 mins so after that someone who is warped locked and HAS NOT FIRED can get out of there. Littrially 9:30 to 11:20 I was sitting there untill they got board and got a bigger ship to blow me away.
Instead of asking a decent question on game mechanics, he stated that he believes that CCP should do this, and do that etc. The day CCP comes back and says that, "yeah we believe everyone in hisec should be immune" is the day I'll eat my words and also the day I'll say goodbye to EVE. Also, the inability to differentiate between a game and RL, and making RL analogies in a video game setting doesn't make for very good arguments (talking about OP's replies, not yours)

well since you did drop my name. I will have a stab at what really happened.
You shot the vexor that was bait and then got pinned down by it. That vexor was getting remote repped. You could not break it and it could not break your Shield tanking domx. My two guys just flew in to watch the show and hopefully get you to shoot at me so i could kill domx. I didnt bring in the brutix and if it would have been me doing the shooting you would have not make it more than 15 minutes. As it was someone did bring in another ship to kill you with. ************************************** If you would have not been on the forums crying like a baby cause you hit the i am ok with pvp button called undock ************************************** then you would have noticed that you could have warped off. But you didnt, you chose to

Thanks for the laugh at the guys trying to kill you and then top it off you let your shield rigged domx be flown away.

A number of things: 1. Stay out of areas that are full of mission runners — they'll look there first. 2. Be quick about getting your mission items/loot/salvage before anyone else does. 3. Get into a player corp — now, if they steal from you, they steal from the corp and are valid targets to everyone in that corp… that risk occasionally give some mission invaders second thoughts. 4. Standar weapons safety: think before you shoot — this includes the use of drones (since they have a mind of their own). ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Two world = game of two halvs
Not everyone plays to a strict structure and social conduct, every one is different some people life building, other like pvp and other just like to talk on the channels. But there is a place for eveything, and if I want to loos a ship I will get a ship that I can afford to loose and take it to low sec in a jumpclone (whitch I have done before) and lost a shop and bee quick happy because its all in the game people winge that people stay in hight sec and that because they have no or little interest in doing something; eveyones taste is different, not ridged
This is why we have so many options in EVE, not just combat, something are not for some people.
Look, Im in the web industry and sometimes we see things that are awful but other people find great beacuse I look at websites all the time I know what a premium design is, just like some of my clients like things that you want to slap them for surgesting, but the point is Im experionced, I know that peole like different things are are close to different sybjects and that why you have to realise that you need to let things go just because there are not perfect, if people like it so be it.

Just try to understand that EVE, is from top to bottom, in every nook and cranny a Player vs. Player game.
What you just described is a possibility you could encounter.
But doing that, is less profitable, then taking on mission them selfs. So what you mostly will encounter from time to time, is a mission thief, soloing. With maybe the hopes you shoot him so he can shoot back.
It's the risk of doing missions. A good way to make it far less attractive for mission thiefs is to salvage while you are busy. So when they warp in there isn't much left for them.

Well mate, some people like one thing and others like other things. And like you rightly say, you should be accepting of other people's playstyles. However, more often than not, the risk averse tend to impose their aversion to risk on the other players. On the flip side, you may say that the PVPers/pirates are imposing their playstyle on the bears when they blow the bear's ship up. Keep in mind though, that the game was designed to have PVP elements in, and pirates/pvpers dont often ask that carebears be disallowed their playstyle, while carebears typically complain and ask for the game to be changed in their favour. See wut I mean?

Anyone else notice that he's posting with a SwordKnight and a different Sword Knight with a space? So either he's running two accounts without a clue on how to play or he's logging in between his alts to troll you.
Looks like the OP is engaging in a little forum PVP himself.
Anyways, what's your favorite thing about scanning down mission runners? Mine has to be, when jumping in on someone for the first time, sometimes for whatever reason they bug out and warp away, like skurry cats. Thus leaving a fleet of tasty drones for the scooping. Tech II's usually net a few million. Me thinks this has increased Eve playability to a mindboggling 11/10.

That's what I was kind of thinking at first, but then I realized the forum software gives you a default one anyway, it doesn't automatically switch between your toons on the same account when posting without user input. Where there is smoke, there is probaby a big talking grizzly bear with a shovel trying to put out a fire. That's all I was getting at.
