Just threw this together, insanely cheap as all t1 well other than the drones but any gallente pilot worth his salt will have t2 drones lurking somewhere :P and very easy to upgrade the mods to meta 3/4's when you feel like it. 480m3 of cargo, does not have to cart around ammo, and able to deal with all highsec spwans without breaking a sweat, so you don't have to worry about refiting inbetween sites. Season the plates to taste for the rats you will mostly encounter. Wouldn't suggest running it into a wormhole though.
Oh and im sure some people will call me out and call it terribad but it'll work <3

I wouldn't say "terribad," but there are definitely high sec combat sites (the unknown signatures, not the anomalies) that this will have trouble handling. if you're just planning to do the radar/magnetometrics, then a tristan is more than enough (frankly if you have T2 light drones, an imicus is enough).

This is a good all-around exploration fit for highsec, except the tank might as well be omni if you are going to move around much, seeing as nothing will be messing it over too bad anyways.
As a warning, some highsec unknown combat sites will eat it for breakfast, and there is no T1 frig or cruiser I'd take into them. for these you'll want to stop off and refit with less lol and more win, ie correctly chosen resistances, drop the codebreaker and analyser for cap rechargers, and fit up a rack of dual 150mm rails.

Oh yeah, and if you want a great highsec explorer that can do everything without breaking a sweat and be speedy you can't beat an ishkur... you cna even managed the unknown encounters and complexes if you are careful.

About how much tank is needed for the harder hi-sec combat sites?
For hi-sec exploration, I usually fly a vexor fitted similarly to what Cunane posted. (But the tank is different: DC2, MAR2, EANM2, and 1600mm RT in the lows.)
I've yet to run into any problems, but then again, I haven't found any 3/10 complexes in recent memory. (Therefore the vexor doesn't fit through the gate... so I end up taking a jaguar.)
As to the OP, if all you're looking for are gravimetric sites, perhaps a dedicated scan frigate (like the imicus) is all you need? Maybe something like:
[Imicus, Exploration] Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane I 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters Codebreaker I
Core Probe Launcher I, Core Scanner Probe I Salvager I
[empty rig slot] [empty rig slot] [empty rig slot]

3/10 allows cruisers/hacs. Anyway, nothing beats an Ishtar for multi-purpose.
On the other hand, why are you reading my signature? |

if you have the time/patience to move 2 ships, have a fitted out cov-ops to find the site, BM it from the map then go get your missioning ship and just warp out to the site.
easy :D

Aye, I ran good difficulty guristas 0.0 plexes in ishtar while fitting the codebreaker, tractor, cloak and salvagers. Could even fit a prober. Very flexible ship.
