We will not be publishing a list of unacceptable words. The rule of thumb is don't use language that would not be acceptable in polite company. Our filter uses both English and foreign language words. When a word is accidentally being filtered that should not be, file a petition and we will add it to the whitelist. I guarantee I can outcurse anyone here, including mom's. And like I said, we will not be providing a copy of the blacklist.

For the record, the blacklist filter has not been changed in years with the exception of when we were spammed by RMT bots several years ago (we added the URLs they were spamming with as a temporary stop measure, and then removed them).
The whitelist is frequently updated, however. CCP Fallout Associate Community Manager EVE Online @ccp_fallout |

Kitty McKitty wrote:If a word isn't filtered by the profanity filter then it's hardly our fault if you have a part list of filtered words and we stumble upon one that isn't. If anything you should simply add that word to the filter rather than go around heavy handed with the bannings because you are too incompetent and inconsistent to do your job properly.
We will remove messages that violate the forum rules. I can't recall any forum ban that was done simply because someone used a word that was not on the filter. I've been here three years (in ten days). CCP Fallout Associate Community Manager EVE Online @ccp_fallout |

Kitty McKitty wrote:just for the record, the filter HAS changed, perhaps not the word list, but the way it is implemented. There are a lot of terms that are now, as per your filtering system, permissible that were not in the past.
Different software handles the same exact blacklist differently. CCP Fallout Associate Community Manager EVE Online @ccp_fallout |

I can vouch for this.
One of the funniest moments I've had on this job was when me and Fallout and some other people on our team were having a conference call and she read out a portion of the blacklist in the most tranquil, everyday manner. It sounded like a recital of the world's most horrible poem.

She can. Trust me.
