Lesson of the Day: Don't go AFK and leave your mothership cloaked in a safe when there's pirates about. Someone might already be sitting right underneath you.
I know the buzz about the Aeon kill yesterday is widespread among us flashy types, but wanted to give the event its due in C&P. The story can be followed in the related lottery thread and my blog, where there is a link to the (heavily commented) killmail on The Bastards' killboard.
This was an awesome kill that required superb collaboration among several pirate corps. Normally, we love bringing the good fights to each other but willingly banded together in this case to make the most of a very special opportunity. Honestly, the piratey goodness of low sec never seems to end.

I'm not quite sure, but if he gets it back, you can rest assured I will be there, and I will be waiting to take this one from him too.
He didn't even have the decency to add to my bounty, but I guess the officer mods will suffice....

Idle Empire MS Killed 07/05
Mean Coalition had scouted Vel Kyri in his brand new aeon which he had just won from Chribba in Aralgrund along with one of there nyx's. The nyx had logged but the aeon was still there cloaked, so mean had sent out a call to friends. Mean Coalition, BYDI, Advocated Destruction, The Bast**ds, Hellcats, Neospartans & few others formed up gang and got to mid point also sending support in ready to tackle.
Support is sent in to tackle but the aeon has moved while cloaked so time to get the fast ships out and find him. Some time passes when all of a sudden eXtas uncloaks him <3 and point is made. Cyno is lit and caps jump but not all the dreads due to mess up with the jump planner oops! Aeon is primed and falls pritty quick due to pilot being afk which was nice =D
Props to Mean for scouting it, getting point, putting up cynos and letting us join, also to eXtas for decloaking the aeon.

Im very interested in what kind of salvage you get out of such a ship. Your blog says that the salvage volume was 78km3....i wonder what the worth of that salvage would be!
