This is what I was told before I joint the game 2 weeks ago, yet everywhere I go all I see are crybabies and people who attack me for playing this game in my own way.
Where are all the so-called mature players eve is supposed to have in abundance?

There are only very few mature people on the world. They make up maybe 5% of the population. Considering the above average concentration of mature people in EVE, this game could be considered "mature".

The mature players in EVE wont be found in local chat or pew pew can action. Infact I saw you in Dodixie local today smack talking randomly. Go figure.
Realise this is 100% troll, as was your trash talk in local. But incase anyone with half a brain comes here, you wont find mature sensible players by talking garbage in view of everyone, infact the further down this road you go, the more you're going to alienate yourself.

Mature in eve = age of the player.
Maturein Eve does not mean they act in a nice manner.
You have to understand this is a game that is very complex, very deep, and that the immature people in it are rampant.
If you can be blown up by a gang of pirates in 0.0 without getting upset then YOU are mature. 98% of people can't do this. So they are immature.

I'm sick of being called every bad word under the sun, suicide ganked and evemailed death threats everyday just for playing the game the same as anyone else does.

First, I think you should define mature, in all seriousness.
For instance, I am a member of a corp of mostly 30-something guys who are, for the most part, married, with kids, with full-time jobs, and predominantly ex-military. While none of those things individually means anything, taken as a whole...well, you can see where I'm going.
That doesn't mean that a group of nineteen-year-old college students won't yammer on in corp chat about the latest Lindsey Lohan side-boob, but the preponderance of evidence is to the contrary.

Well, if it isn't Delphi. I don't know about your antics outside of SWA and what threats you have had to endure but when I see you in there, 9 times out of 10 you're trying to scam the newbie corp. Scams are fine, that's EVE. Wouldn't be the same without it. *Spam*, however can get a bit annoying.
Since you're scam-spamming the NPC corp how could you *not* anticipate dislike in return? Yes, scams are allowed but so is being annoyed at it. Why shouldn't players be allowed to be ****ed off in return? In EVE everything has consequences. Act like a jerk, be treated like a jerk.
Explain to me why only you should be allowed to "playing this game in [your] own way"?
About hate mails, just set the CSPA charge to a million or so and you'll get a lot fewer, I assure you.
Scam on, just be aware of that people aren't obliged to love you in return.
EDIT: And yes, it's like that crappy old horse about Caldari and PVP:

Mature individuals don't have to let the entire world know life is unfair. They might get angry but they generally learn from the situation and try to fix what went wrong.
Un-mature whining people (carebear is too miner-esque and this applies to combat as well) throw emo-rages and have to let everyone know their pain and want things to be spoon fed to them instead of actually calming down and learning how to deal with a situation.
The whiners inflate their public image numbers by screaming the loudest making them the most known. This doesn't not signify majority or even a large portion of the real population. We see this in real life already. Facepalm yourselves if you didn't already know this.

The general consensus, at least in the circles I've been in, goes something like this: Eve Online does not have a learning curve...it has a learning CLIFF.
The kiddies today don't have the patience to learn something this complicated. To most of the players I associate with, whom I would consider on the mature end of the New Eden spectrum, like this game BECAUSE it's hard to learn.

That sort of behavior is frowned upon by the "mature" player-base.

In my experiance, most people in EVE are adults who interact with other people like fatuous children. An idea which is certainly reinforced by the majority of the content of these forums.
But that seems to be a broader cultural issue these days.

Nope don't like them either. But I cope with them by deleting my junk box every so often. She, comprehension works wonders which you need to work on a bit. OK you asked for it. I'm a so-called mature player. I am 57 years old and I've been playing this game since 12/2007. I think many young players in this game are terrible.
They refuse to learn anything about the game, but want to get into a big ship as soon as possible to start a pirating-career. This game is more then "pew pew". I usually leave those people alone and dont even talk to them in the chat. I know, this game is 90% warfare but some players just come out of the station in a noob-ship and attack concord or the next freighter or transportship trying to dock. This is surely not what the game is about.

Eve isn't a game for mature players, or young players or girls or boys.
Eve is a game for players who take great delight in twisting rules until they break then throwing up thier hands in horror when called to account.
It's a game for people who enjoy sticking fingers in light sockets just to see if thier eyes will project 100w of light energy.
It's a game for people who enjoy inflicting mental cruelty on those they suppose are less well endowed with grey matter.
It's a game for paranoid selfloving egomaniacs with crossgender roleplay issues.

You know the game which is called "car driving"? There is even a
test you have to do before you can play it and you have to reach
a certain age before you are allowed to do the test.
Even there the participants seem not to be mature....

I had a good laugh at that. It does sum up MMO trolls in a nutshell.
And yes, there are immature players in every game. It's unavoidable, but some games get more than others. I play WoW as well, and there are definately more immature players there, but the overall percentage might not be as different as people would like to think.
This game tends to attract older players because of the complex and freeform nature, but it doesn't stop younger players from joining, if they are willing. If I was eighteen again, I think I would still be playing this game. Some of the younger players can be annoying, but others can be accepted.
Age is not indicative of maturity and I have found some of the worst behaved people tend to be middle-aged, not teenaged.
If the OP is indeed someone who smacks and spams in excess, as some people are claiming, you can't honestly be surprised with hatemail if you deliberately annoy people? Time to do some empirical testing: go out into the street, and go up to 100 complete strangers and tell them that they enjoy sexual congress with their parents (perhaps throwing in a bit of bestiality for good measure), and then report back on the nature of the responses that you get (if you are still able to type).
Having said all that, the majority of players I have met online have been good people who just enjoy a good laugh. It's just a shame that a few socially inept people use their anonymity to spew forth all their repressed rage and awkwardness on people that they are completely safe from (unless they do something stupid, like hand out their phone number, which I know someone has done on these forums, and subsequently got threatening phone calls in real-life).
