Come on CCP
8 mil for a ******* "cap recharger 2" is a "J O K E"
Time to release some more bp's for them so other people who want to do manufacting can sell items for a decent price
It turning into Microsoft vs the rest
Only Microsoft got its arse kicked like it deserved in the courts
its about time some of the bigger corps got a kick in the wallet too |

This would be fine as long as blueprint copies on tech 2 blueprints were impossible.

Agree
As I understand it, a certain alliance holds all the T2 Cap Recharger BPOs...

Edited by: Skelator on 04/09/2004 16:04:04 Reminds me of the MINER-2 Gluttony by a certain corp that shall remain nameless (cough cough) Cost them almost pennies and they charged 5 mill per unit.
Healthy competition is always good for the consumers but a Monopoly well that is only good for the ummm Monopoly.

I think it's fine as it is....price meets demand - and their T2 - their not meant to be cheap and readibly available.

prices will increase and keep increasing. its eve-flaion. we get isk from killing rats, and isk from running missions, but where dose that isk come from? nowhere, its created by the game. therefore its infinite in supply. as people amass more money, they have more to spend. untill npc corps rewards and payments are limited to what they take in from sales to players, then inflation will contnue to increase.
in pvp every advantge helps, as is apparent with the named pirate loot. people are spending massive amounts to get these mods, and thats good, because if everone had them, then ships would have to be rebalanced again.

If you dont like the price then dont buy them . Unless you really need them you will have to pay the price set by the owner. If you cant pay that price.........work a bit longer, same as in RL Everyone can pay for them i think, but most are just not willing to pay that much.

having copying blueprint originals faster than making them would result in dedicated science guys selling blueprint copies to the manufacturers

Yep. Mudflation is part of the ruination of many a good game. I really hope CCP handles the issue better than most gaming companies do. Money-sinks would be a great start.
Casino, anyone?

Prices are dictated by supply and demand, not by how much people can pay (although it can play a part).
If the BPO was available from NPC corps, the item would sell for more or less it's mineral value, maybe even less.
Right now the very limited number of producers can decide how much profit they want (as long as they don't go totally overboard, like 120m for a small mobile warp disruptor ), and agree on a price, as seems to have happened on the Cap Recharger IIs.
RL: In most (if not all) developed Western economies such cartels are illegal.

Edited by: Dave10 on 04/09/2004 23:07:15 There should be definatly more BPOs released.
they cost like 300k to make, i wouldnt mind paying 1-2 mil. but 8mil? er..right. Supply is huge, and there were about 45 for the whole region around yulai last time i checked. something seriously need to be done, its getting out of hand
anyone who says the situation is fine, i would like to know what you're smoking

Quote: This would be fine as long as blueprint copies on tech 2 blueprints were impossible.
ok... is it just me or does this make NO sense at all? BPC's should help LIGHTEN the lack of supply, and should help the price become more reasonable.

not "readily avaliable" in the commonness of regular items. but they should not be nearly unobtaibable either.
as dave said... I don't think for things that are useful and for whatever reason a pain in the ass to make effectively(tech 2 items = heavy skill training, one way or the other, for the regular person to build) people would mind paying a reasonable, even relatively high profit margin.
but I do NOT think these things are intended to have NEARLY as much price increase from rarity, as it does. tech 2 should be something special, yes, but it should be something that is able to be gotten.
