A player named Delphi Grendalus just scammed me out of a weeks worth of isk (500k) by making a legally binding verbal contract that she would triple any donation I sent her. SHE DID NOT! In fact she kept my hard-earned ISK and even called me a rude name.
Now I have contacted my family lawer who says internet law is not his focus and I should get in touch with the people who make the game but the petition I filed was closed and seems to have done nothing about this criminal. So this is my last resort.
What are my options with dealing with this law-breaker? How can I alert the proper authorities about Delphi Grendalus and her wicked ways? Does anybody know a good internet lawer in the tri-state area?

500k a week may not seem like much to you but I spend the majority of my time in this game helping out my corporation moving assests from station to station. I don't need isk for that so I don't request any. I am given 500k every week by the CEO as a gesture of goodwill for the services I offer.
Regardless of how long it takes me to make the ammount that was stolen from me the fact remains, 5isk or 500k isk stealing is stealing and is against the law.

Having just returned to EVE after a 10 month hiatus, reading this thread has immediately dispelled any doubts I had about reactivating.

The fact that it was only 500k is not whats important. It takes this stupid player an entire WEEK to make that much. That would be like scamming me for 15B or the average player for like 100M or whatever tiny sum they can generate. Plus all these tears.... mmm delicious. How many other scammers have you seen with so much hate generated towards them? O yeah thats right, none.
I'm the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be and I'm still only 3 weeks old! By the time I get to be a year old I predict about 85% of empire space will belong to me unless I start to play 2 hours a day instead of 1, then it'll be 100% in 6 months.

That's just it though, I don't troll. Look at my preivous topics, none of them are trolls if you read between the lines. I'm making comments about things, like how stupid scamming has become.
This, on the other hand, is obviously a troll topic designed around using my name to generate a lot of attention. I did indeed take 500k isk from the OP but I doubt that is really a weeks worth of isk for him/her. Haha. oh dear. You can ohly sue for the value of what was taken from you. Since ISK has no monetary value according to the EULA you cannot give it a monetary value there for you could sue him/her for exactly $0. That's assuming you could actually find a way to serve him/her the suit. If you did manage to succesffully sue for an amount then you would be violating the EULA and you could be baned for buying/selling ISK. Isn't it wonderfull ;).
Seriously anyone who believe "give me ISK and i'll give you 3 times back" deserves to be scammed.

2 things you can do.
1.) Live and learn. EVE is a harsh place. Scamming is legal. Beware whom you do buisness with. Though IMO, people who scam newbies are the lowest of the low.
2.) kill them in game.
Thats about it. You wont ever get your isk back. The GM's will never address this issue. Ever.

Scamming is an allowed game mechanic in EVE. And anyway, when you signed on you agreed that all in-game items and currency are the sole property of CCP, and as such, there was no theft from you, only an exchange of CCP's property between 2 players of the game.

That would be like scamming me for 15B or the average player for like 100M or whatever tiny sum they can generate. Plus all these tears.... mmm delicious. How many other scammers have you seen with so much hate generated towards them? O yeah thats right, none.
I'm the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be and I'm still only 3 weeks old! By the time I get to be a year old I predict about 85% of empire space will belong to me unless I start to play 2 hours a day instead of 1, then it'll be 100% in 6 months.

One by signing the Eula you admit that nothing in game has real world value. Second if you could get around that, you would have to have CCP give up the name of that player, not going to happen. Third assuming you got both of the above, the going rate for 500k isk is like 10 bucks from a farmer, which is also not allowed under the EULA...
as for 500k... that is like 1 bs bounty in a level 4 mission, or a decent level 2 mission including salvage and speed bonus. Spend the time you will try to make something legal happen, and work up to a level 3 or 4 agent, you will end up way ahead isk wise. Also read up on the CCP policies all player transactions are buyer beware...

You can talk to as many lawyers as you want, scaming for all I know is not against the EULA, thus is legal. EVE is a harsh world.

According to my sources Delphi Grendalus has at least 6 active accounts. Part of the nature of this beast is the shadows that he/she generates, clings to and moves within. I personally am unconvinced ****lesmack is an alt of Delphi but Lord Gary and Alphina DeAmmatar definately are, as well as Mayor Menod and John Rouke.
