Did the devs not check this patch with win2k/xp/wine? No one who's using vista is complaining.
Dont be rude.. Of course they tested with win2k/xp/wine.. They only have a small number of testbeds, and QA cant check every configuration..
It's not like they took the most common OS and deleted the boot files for it without ever spotting the problem.. If they did something like that then you could assume they didnt check those other operating systems..
BTW ccp no longer support W2k, or W2k3 and as such they may not fix it to work with those systems!..
I too have this problem, Windows7 is on a seperate partition and eve loads fine for it, so it's def a OS level issue. ----------- Never Forget |

Your problem is not the same one that non-vista users are having at current ;).. But thanks for saying that, as Vista users seeing a black screen might benefit from this. ----------- Never Forget |

Originally by: CCP Explorer If you are experiencing a "black screen" issue, then try downloading and applying this patch http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch88517-88737_m.exe to update from Apocrypha 1.2 to a new 1.2.1. We believe this will resolve the issue.
Please note that this patch has not had a lot of testing yet, so I strongly recommend that you make a backup copy of your EVE folder before applying the patch.
Let us know in the thread if this resolves your issue.
Confirming it works for me.. W2K Professional (terminal services only started on W2K Server) ----------- Never Forget |
