Here is my setup: Hi: 5x Quad Light Beam laser 1 w/ Multifreq. 1x Small Nosferatu Mid:Static Webfier 10mn MWD Fixed Pararell Link-Capacitor (named 16.5% cap recharger) Lo: 3x Cap Relay's 1x 800mm Reinforced 1x Medium Armor Repairer 1x Heat Sink I
Do you think this would work on lvl3 rats? I'm having trouble fitting 1600mm plate even with 3 RCU's instead of the cap relays. (engineering lvl4 (lvl5 in 3 days) and electrionics lvl4) ____________________________________

Stop trying to fit the 1600mm plates and even remove the 800mm and fit armor hardeners instead. I havenŠt flown maller in a while but you should definitly armor tank it with 1med armor repairer and 2xhardeners depending on the rats you are fighting. __________ Capacitor research |

need some nerve in a maller, but it works just fine. dust puppy has the right idea tho.. i prefer fitting small guns (pulse, usually) and a bs AB.. zoom in and needle'em down... small guns never miss when used right.. try 5 small neutrons on a thorax in a similar fasion, same effect.. regen of about 180 or better keep it all going pretty good..
um, drop the plate and use 2 relays and 2 (rat specific) hardners and keep the rest, rotate the heat sink for other strange thoughts when feeling adventurous, and see what else will fit up top...
-keeps ya on your toes :)

The maller i found makes short work of level 3 missions was 5x 150mm scout hybrids with lead ammo (less cap and the lead makes it even less cap) 1x cap recharger, 1x med cap battery(recharger if power issues and cant mount), 1x 10mn mwd 1600mm plate, 1x energized adaptive membrane, 1x medium armor repairer, 3x cap relay I
It stays focused. the lead ammo is so you dont have to wait for close range. Its tanking, cap, and speed. Does fine. Can trade blows with em all day and if you turn off the mwd you can trade blows really for all day with level 3 agent missions.
Not good at pvp at all though so if your going to .4 or less or have wars your going to have to make due with alot less cap/armor/ and or different guns.

Yup the maller pretty much pwns the lvl 3 missions. I have some decent pulses fitted in the highs + a smartbomb. MWD + charging mods in meds and hardeners, repairer and cap relays in low slots. I have not tried the Mordu mission in the Maller but it would probably do OK with some very nifty flying. That Maller is some ship you know . My absolute favorite.

Ummmm.
Ive been using the maller for over a year in missions, still just as easy with the boost to mission difficulty.
Fit for long range and quip an mwd, warp in at 60 and pick tham off 1 at a time.
For the wingmen dop a med laser and fit a small pulse. Job done
My fit
5 Medium Modulated energy beam1's and 1 small smart bomb
Tracking computer 2, 10mn mwd and cap recharger2
3 Rcu (needed to fit 5 heavy beams with eng5) 1 heatsink2 and 2 cpr
Voila a kill every time

You could also fit a web for the wingmen (and other fast frigs), saving you the trouble of dropping a medium sized laser for a small one. Hardeners and an armour repairer work wonders to save your skin. Try focused medium pulses instead of quad light beams, and bring Radio for long range, Infra for medium and Gamma for short. MF is nice damage, but drain cap like mad. An MWD will let you keep range as well, and also helps collecting cans afterwards. Cap relays are also useful, but with focused med pulses you can do with 200 sec recharge, letting you keep repairer and lasres going for a long time, even with an occasional burst from your MWD. _________________________________________________ War transcends all barriers of species, race, religion, and civilization. |

I try as a rule on empire agent missions to fight as close as physically possible without having a gun that can only fight at 1k (thats just as annoying as having to be far away to avoid damage). The reason is two 1) Its faster in the long run if you pickup cans 2) Its possible.
No sense in stringing out cans over 150k if you can avoid it.
