No need for this. 'tis not that hard to manage the skills as was pointed out here already. ____________________________________________________

I doubt this will ever happen because the requirement to log back in and manage skill training is a very clever little bit of game design that really helps get people into the game. How many times have you logged in "just for a skill change" and ended up playing for an hour or more? It helps people get over the initial learning curve, simply because it makes them play more often than they would probably otherwise do. Later on when your skills start to max out its not a problem.

Edited by: Decairn on 06/09/2004 15:05:35 I'd rather CCP spend their time developing software that will enhance the game for when I am logged in and playing it. So you lose a few skill points if you don't plan ahead, big deal.

We need a skill quue that holds 1 skill.
A big que would be lame. People would just raise toone by logging on once a week and running it.
But it wouldbe nice if we could keep 1 skill rready to go. I play most every day, but I do have a job and family, so I cant always be on when I know I have a skill about to finish.

Originally by: Lermitte CCP were looking at perhaps being able to train two skills at once, with a penalty being applied. This could allow oyu to have a long term skill going whilst training those 4/5 hour ones.
Skills are not going to be queued, nor are they going to be selectable by web, it will not be possible to train two skills on 1 character for an account upgrade, nor will it be possible to train 2 skills on 1 account. All these things have been discussed long ago and rejected. The skill system is in place for a variety of reasons, ranging from immersion to exploitability prevention.
In short, any changes to the skill system that simplify training to the point that the game trains everything for you, or allows you to train more than 1 skill at a time are not going to happen.

Ofcourse not, how could i be so blind??!!
Skills continue to train even if you don't pay your subscrition... so if you had a skill queue you could start a long skill queue and quit eve for some time and come back later... and CCP doesn't want that do they??!! Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station |

skill queues are a bad idea because you could just select all the skills you need ot be an uber producer/researcher/fighter etc, then just let it go and log in 5minths later when its done, or even worse, sell the acc for rl money.
this is a time consuming game, and you have to commit yourself, or you wont get the best out of the game.

No, I meant slightly puzzled-looking, arrogant, vain sister.
Oh, and we need a skill queue like we need a hole in the head. How hard can it be? Work on shorter skills while you play, longer ones while you're away.

As Kieron said, they wont be implementing any skill queue of any kind for a reason... and Turyleon hit the nail on the head as to the main reason it wont EVER be considered.
Just do what I do... Buy a cheapish PDA... and make an appointment for when your skill completes. I've even done a Sheet To Go (thats like Excel on a Palm) that I put in the days, hours and minutes and it tells me when the skill will actually finish so I dont have to strain my grey cells.
If anyone want a copy of this sheet for their Palm (although it's a piece of cake to do) just evemail Shannon Foraker ingame (as that's the main char I tend to use nowadays) and I'll put it somewhere for download.
