Happened to me on about one third of the jumps I made in the last few days. It's ruining 0.0 gameplay because if one jumps into a hostile one is dead. The screen alternates between two frames and wont load. -------------SIG STARTS HERE------------- Chaining BoBo in south Feyth:

11 pages of people reporting this issue and not even 1 post from CCP to say they will look into it? Very poor show CCP, id expect a farce like this from some other providers such as code masters but not you guys. Incidentally I have seen this again this morning on both my accounts when trying to do some trading.

Organised a roaming gang last night in 9UY area
Had about 70 people in fleet.
First jump approx. 35 of the fleet froze/crashed on first jump (including me).
Shortest roaming op I have ever been on.

Getting the same issue, is there a pattern to when it happens I wonder?
* I went 16 jumps in hi-sec, and didn't crash once. * The only crashes I have encountered are in 0.0, and not consistently, just every couple of jumps * Completely clearing my cache didn't change anything * Certain system to system transitions seem to be more prone to crash people than others?

Just my two cents worth:
1) Customers have a right to complain about the service that they receive. That said, some people are bloody rude about it, and should take time out to read what they have written. You will never get co-operation from people if you insult them, even if you're paying them money. Report the fault sensibly, try to get test data where you can, and be politely insistant. You'll get further that way. I used to work within a business with a large call centre, and the amount of abusive calls they got was phenomenal. To be fair, the customers had genuine complaints, but guess how well-motivated the staff were after being ranted at?
2) I am surprised with such a bug, that CCP haven't rolled back to the previous version until they can identify the problem. There are only two reasons I can think of for this: continued use is required to identify the problem, or the software cannot be rolled back (but that would be unlikely). However, the longer this problem goes on without being rolled back, the more likely people will cancel their subscriptions. I can see the value in doing live testing, as it will get you results that you can't get any other way, but if you leave it too long, people lose confidence in the software.
3) If you feel the game is unplayable, and you've had enough, then cancel your subscription. No point in paying for a service that you feel is not good enough. Threats to cancel aren't good enough to motivate a company, because it doesn't affect the bottom line, and people assume (rightly or wrongly) that you're too addicted to leave otherwise you would have done so by now. Waiting for other people to quit to see if the service improves doesn't work either, because they will all be doing the same. A good example of this is when my satellite box developed a fault. I rang the company involved and they said they could fix it, but it would cost me ú50. My contention was that I was paying an expensive subscription for the service every month, and their hardware actually belonged to them, and not me. They stated this was policy and couldn't be changed. So I cancelled my subscription. They put me through to the cancellations department, who asked why I was cancelling, and I explained (rather exhasperated by this point). After that, he offered to replace the box for free. I accepted, and got the problem resolved without costing me a penny. This is despite being told that they categorically couldn't do it, because it was a set charge laid out in their policy. Once they knew I was going to cancel and wasn't just threatening, they suddenly became a lot more motivated.
4) There have been two posts by CCP, essentially stating that they are looking into the problem. The second post was a better one, as it was an written one, rather than the initial formulaic one.
I know that's more than two cents (probably closer to five dollars), but there you have it.

Edited by: Grez on 21/05/2009 11:17:29 FYI they did a lot of low-end changes on SiSi and that worked perfectly. There might just be an issue with adapting it for TQ. They now just need to find out what exactly is causing it to happen (because I've never had it happen, and I went roaming yesterday).
Just because you can reproduce it 100% of the time, does not mean it goes that way for everyone else. It could be related to the way the client initiates a piece of hardware and how it reacts, it might not be. It could be due to the RAMsan, but might not be.
It's most probably down to the new low-end optimisations they made on SiSi (many, many, many of them), and they need to tweak a specific one for it to work on TQ.
Just be patient and let them find it. I'm sure they'll deploy a hotfix the moment they find out what it is.
Oh, and another FYI, "REPRODUCTION" in software terms means they need to find a way to do it EVERY single time, 100% of the time. Not a chance to do it, a 100%. As no-one can do that (bar those so-very witty people who say "JUST TURN ON AUTOPILOT LULULUL"), let them be whilst they try to fix it. --- Grez: I shot the sheriff Kalazar: But I could not lock the Deputy BECAUSE OF FALCON |

Happened to me and my alt last night in the same system. Jumped in and froze. logged of then back on again. jumped out of system. My alt was on the same run but about 6 jumps behind, same thing happened to him. On the return trip, it did the same thing in the same system.

Last night flying around in a small op, if we jumped into Eglennaert we had to relog. No other systems seemed to be affected near the area of Dodixie.

I've encountered this bug several times in hi-sec as well - I don't think this is a problem isolated to 0.0. It may very well be more frequent there, though. I'm not sure.

i got a way to fix this problem just go back to the old patch fix this one then put it back up least then we wont have this jump problem
