was there a change to bubble mechanics I missed? I was warping a cloaked recon between two gates last night, one with a dictor bubble and one with a t2 large bubble and neither sucked me in. I would always land at whatever distance I selected.
Fluke, design or bug? if it's a bug I'll turn on the logserver next time I see it happening and submit a bugreport.

You'd be surprised by the number of people in 0.0 who don't know how to place a good sling bubble. It could have just been bad placement, but given the number of issues in the last patch it could have been some sort of cloaking bug. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

I did some more testing with large bubbles. It seems if I warp at a specific range it doesn't suck me in. If I warp at 0 I get sucked in. I'll put together some reproduction steps and submit a bug report.

It really depends on how well the bubble was aligned. A bit off, and it won't suck you if you try for range. Such is life.

Don't forget: bubbles only pull you if they were "live" when you started warping.

What i've noticed is:
You end up in exactly the distance outside from the bubble surface you have choosen to warp in.
If you warp at 0m, then you are right under the surface inside the bubble.
If you warp in at e.g. 10km, then you end up 10km outside.
Works for warping to positions before and behind the bubble.
Is this really intended or a bug?

Ausser's observations are pretty dead on, though I don't know if it just me, but I find myself just outside the bubble when I warp to 0.

Beat me too :/ ----- Why doesn't anyone ever read the forums before posting? EVE is a game of adaptation and planning. Adapt or die. |
