Pre-fitted setups
1. This would allow designated ship roles 2. Would be the answer to the people who hate to see BS mining 3. Would incourage CCP to launch "mining barges" 4. Battles would be run more through tactics as opposed to skirmishing or camps(tie in with shiva

Well, the irony is that he is, actually, quite correct, in that pre-fitted ships would solve 90% of the things people complain about in Eve.
Away would go battleship miners. No more dual MWD ships would terrorize the space lanes. No more Gankagheddons would disturb game balance. Never again would hyper tankapocs weather three battleships fire. No more armour tanked Ravens spamming heavy missiles. In the past would be the Mauller's power gride issues. Gone would be the problems mounting Tech II on Crusaders. Gone would be the difficulties mounting blasters on a MWD Thorax.
And yet, at the same time, it would cripple the game for most of the people who play it now.
Almost makes one wonder if these problems, are actually problems at all, doesn't it?

Well, not so much prefitted, but more specific slot assignments would go a long way. Like BSes only being able to fit 4 Large weapons and any combo of Medium and Small for the rest of the slots. ____________ Sex / Rank 9 / SP: 1280 of 2304000

regarding the specific slots... yes, definately. i'd also propose (for the high slots) 'laser slots' that can only fit lasers (a laser just needs a power cord, remember, no ammo) 'turret slots' for hybrids, projectiles and lasers (these would have room for people to reload the guns and such.) 'missile slots' as now 'weapon slots' that will fit any turret/missile 'support slots' that fit support modules, such as nosferatus and such 'main bay slots' that fit any high slot item this would lead to ships being a lot more in keeping with they racial ideals. (amarr would mainly have laser slots (ie apoc. 4 lasers, 2 turrets, 2 main bays.) while the scorp would have something more like 2 missile slots, 2 weapon slots, 2 main bays.)

You already have bonuses that pretty much dictate which weapons you use. I was actually thinking more along the lines of weapon class size. Frigs get all their slots in small, Cruisers get like maybe 4 in Medium and 2 in Small, BSes get like 4 or 5 in Large, the rest Small or Medium.

Balance issues?? lol,Try playing Soe's PlanetSide, now that game has issues, and they add giant robots in instead of doing anything about it, Soe are idiots. ok theres a few in this game, and this idea is good, but they would have to lower the price on ships, some of us cant afford a ship for mining, and another for hunting.
