So when is EVE finally going to insert completely awesome aliens fleets in 0.0 that totally kick everybody's booty? With totally gnarly looking ships?

There are no aliens. Every group in eve are decendents of humans. Just with split evolutions.

Fedo, Hanging Long-limb, Slaver Hounds and many other species are referenced both in-game and in background stories.
These are all alien lifeforms.

I hope some day the Jove empire attacks EVE, or makes peace with EVE, or just does something with EVE.. They did a couple fun events with them year one.. but we want more!

Eh, I suspect Sleepers are AI set up by humans, old humans, the ones pre-gate. Would sorta make sense for more wormholes in a local area to sorta link to same general area.

As far as the stories go so far there are no sentient aliens.
The Sleepers, the Jove, etc are all just descendants of humanity.
The Jove at least are no longer Homo sapiens sapiens. It is more than likely they would be Homo jovian jovian. This based on the fact that they have lost their reproductive ability not only with one another but also the other human subraces.
The four races may also be subspecies now of the sapiens species.
For example Modern man is Homo sapiens sapines. Matari might be Homo sapiens matari. etc.

I love the idea of true alien mob fleets wrecking hisec from time to time, including its Concord protection. If allowed to wreck a system unabated, these fleets could destroy most everything in it, until the system inhabitants and installations respawn after downtime. As a matter of fact, I was thinking something just like that when wondering about alien mobs.
I really think this is viable at least in terms of being fun and interesting. Maybe (probably) not possible at all in terms of CCP actually being able to implement it.
