Will we see such wonders in Eve winter patch as this?

I wish, I enjoy the atmosphere of the game as much as the game itself sometimes... but then I'm a little strange, ...clearly the Ishukone Watch Scorpion is the fifth horseman of the Apocalypse, i.e. the Brown Rider, otherwise known as Poopie. |

no because the forums now run over SSL and they can't decide how to make embedded images safe to display under the https protocol |

I'm pretty skeptical on how well the nebulae will be released in the Winter expansion. Something tells me that they won't be released until Spring 2012 at the earliest. |

I don't find this strange at all. Eve should make you feel like you are really in space. |

Hows the scope hunting going? In less than a month i'l be ordering my first scope, likely a skywatcher heritage 130p, should do ok out here in the country. Then i'l be saving for a UHC filter, then i'l be saving for... Well, i'm just gonna be saving, for a damn long time.

I already have an Evostar 120 on an EQ5 mount, going to add a ST80 for an autoguider piggybacked, some RA and Dec Motors, baader solar filter, variable polarizing lunar filter, and a revelation eyepiece set then hook up my 1100D to the focuser, which will also be upgraded to a dual speed 10:1 crayford :)
I also use 25x100 binos (Helios Quantum 4's).
Grab lots of solar and lunar images, stack em, and add some high pass overlays.
PS: did you know the moon isn't actually gray :) its more tan brown and blue , multi coloured. |

How do you like using a tripod with Binoculars? I always thought of them as more casual use myself?? Ya know really laid back stuff. I guess I'm real lazy though, I think a good Telescope mount should have clearance for a lounge chair too. Or even a lounge chair mounted inside a frame/tripod :) |

i'd rather see the following
1. binary star systems.
2. supernova that actualy have a chance of exploding ( dangerous system to enter with great rewards, risk equals reward)
3. gravity, getting too close to planets should mean, reduced speed and maneuverability (makes frigates fly like capitals)
4. a corona on suns, you get too close,, oppps pop !
5. atmospheric flight, oh if only,, if only

so setup a remote observatory and control it from inside the house :) or from the beach.

With things the size of 25x100s, you REALLY need a mount.
Some nice gear miilla, kinda makes mine seem crappy...

Woohoo! Thanks CCP Navigator, you're my bestest pal!
Definitely really looking forward to this. Whether you PvE or PvP, having it really feel like you're a space pilot out in space adds a lot to the fun and immersion. |

The CCP art team didn't do it. They didn't touch it. CCP outsourced it to a company that does it for movies. |

Now I may be wrong about this but aren't those pictures of nebulae, galaxies and such like that we all see and admire taken with a telescope i.e. Hubble?
What you would probably see in space with the naked eye is pretty white specks in a black sky.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for pretty but sometimes wish that the space we fly through looked a little blacker and sparse and less like an Earth sky just before a thunderstorm.
It will be interesting to see what they come up with when it all arrives though. |

Hello everyone,
I promised you an update today on the status of new nebulae and here is what I can tell you. I spoke with the product owner of this project today and work is continuing on designing the new visuals and we have quite a few artists working on making these spectacular.
At this stage we cannot give you a date on when we expect these to be released, however, we are hoping in the next few weeks that we will have a better idea of when the project will be finished and added for testing. I have bookmarked this thread and i will come back and give you an update when I know more. CCP Navigator - Lead Community Representative |

At fanfest they showed 4 examples, which looked so cool, this was one of the highlights for me from fanfest (sad but true). Do you know if there will more than the 4 we saw WiPs of, or any other 'surprises' in regards to this new feature? Thanks for talking to the artists and devs working on this though. I'd also like to make a request to CCP in regards to this feature. I know you guys are working with FrameStore on developing this feature. A company I used to work for did a lot of work for them servicing their SGI computers before CFC moved over to PC Workstations. Anyway, I'd really love to see a 'making of' small documentary or something for the YouTube page. That would be awesome... just a thought anyway. |
