I want to congratulate the two winners in the Kaalakiota Qualifier 1 round. It was a hell of a race you guys ran. It was definitely a fun experience for me and my first event on Eve , All exept the OMGWTF pawning I got at the end of the race by Evolution and RKK . Although I already knew the outcome of the race I wanted to finish, and for it I got a free one way trip back to Kisogo .
Thanks for all the fun and hope to do more of it soon. EVE Rocks!!! ______________________

Grats to 2 qualifiers and 5 pilots who managed to finish the race. Unfortunately we were not premited to use mobile warp disruptors or smartbombs Good fun
Arguing with EVE customer support is like chatting up stewardess on the plane - you know you're not gonna get any , but it's still hella fun trying |

Edited by: seoul on 09/09/2004 06:46:02 I agree with Venture, congratulations to the winners and congratulations to Evolution and the other parties, who organised a very efficient and effective blockade.
Maybe the contestants in the next qualifiers will have to rethink tactics, as the fastest pilot did not win this race.
Once again thanks to everyone who took part.

Well, the blockade was as effective as a blockade could be without use of smartbombs or deployable warp disruptors. The folks were intent on keeping in sporting, so 5 of 19 managed to get through. ;)

No mobile warp disruptors or unsmartbombs... ...so you decided to lag the gate out with drones instead.
Well played ebil pieratz :|

I would like to congratulate the stupid mindless idiots, who give out pathetic excuses for a simple gank.
Your actions had nothing to do with gameplay, roleplay or anything else. Another simple case of "wow we're uber" look at us. Well im sorry but no-one is impressed.
Btw, yes I am whining. Now please do us all a favour and shove your head back up your a$$. Thanks

i slowly get the impression, that the campers get the info about the route before the participiants. that would be extremely ****ty behavior from the GMs imo.

Congratulations to the winners of the event Hasek and Rancid Mare.
The Caldari Championships is not just a race but a combination of speed, surviveability and sexiness.
Those two proved beyond all doubt that they had what it takes to reach the next round.
When the race entered The Great Northern Warzone it was always going to come under-fire by warring factions.
It's 0.0 space. It's a warzone. It's hell.
Glad you enjoyed the heat.
P.S. Special props to the guy who finished in his pod after just wanting to actually finish. That kind of balls is what gets you places in this game. dbp

Evol did have a scout with instas. Following or trying to follow the race. If they did know the exact route or not im not sure.
What didnt help was the Eve Radio DJ blurting out where the race was going and the fact that Evol used lag to their advantage by having some 30 ships at the last gate with LOTS of drones out.

I hope you are aware that the lag created was just about 0 right ? Drones hardly cause any lag anymore, and our 30 ships actually was more like 20. I had harldy any fps drop at all upon warping into that group just before you guys arrived.
Oh, and the route of these races isnt very hard to predict when one combines some info. Originally by: Aneu Angellus Iv held back from posting on this thread for quite some time, but i think the time had come for me to come in and post.

Personally, I'm pretty happy they camped that gate hard, because they blew up Doonwong, and that 31mill payout I gave last night could easily have been 40 mill...although that's just a businessman's point of view...
Still, I think the organisers should try to police those chokepoints a bit, it would be a shame to attribute the Caldari Championships to such a large loss of life...

But the loss of life is what makes these so appealing! The risk of life and limb for the honour of the Corporations! Glorious!
Personally, I'm annoyed that they killed Seoul, as I was betting on him. *chuckles*

As i said i don't think your lot did anything wrong by predicting where the race was going but even suggesting that there was no lag is quite frankly ridiculous.
We all know once drones are out it gets laggy and once all those drones get flagged the lag only gets worse. Our guy was rubber banding all over at that gate and couldnt jump thru it where as he'd been fine for the earlier parts of the race.
Also to blame it on "well it is a war zone" is kinda weak as you just admitted you where following the race with an intention of ganking who you could.
Fair play to you, you set up a mean blockade but don't try and big yourselves up by spawning more m0o/evol propaganda bullsh1t
Cheers

Edited by: Moneta on 09/09/2004 09:06:39 The reason why this was allowed to happen is that this race is not a question of just making 35 jumps as fast as you can only.
You need to look at that map while racing, see the blob, make a judgement call on wether or not to warp via a planet or not in that system with 40 people in local....
You get it ? The people that got thru were smart or lucky. Smart as in doing just what was needed or lucky as in having someone else jump a few seconds before them. My moneys on the 5 ppl that got thru been part of your second option there dont you think?
I agree with the not just having the fastest ship but lets face it anyone that did have a ship capable of running that blockade fair and square wouldn't have been anywhere near the front
Besides going via a planet would only of brought them into a laggy gate at a different angle and as you wheren't using smartbombs are the warp in point probably wouldn't have made any difference.
Not going thru the choke point would also have cost the race as it was miles around
Either way i accept its part of the race and well done on your uber 1337 blockading skills...
See you around
