At the moment cancel order is just above modify order.Needless to say how many time i myself and fellow traders have pressed the wrong button because of lag kicking in. Lag is the biggest reason this happens yet we all know you can do nothing about the lag.So my suggestion switch modify order and show info from place. This way you get the same options when right klicking yet you don't have the problem i am talking about. It happened to me 3 times today allready.

signed and from some posts earlier: 1. separate the modify order button and the cancel order button by some milimeters the cancel order button gets a hit quite often unintentionally. 2. make the percentage at which u receive a warning when placing / changing a market order a personal setting. potentially as low as 1 %. if u ever placed 2 million megazyd on market for 3600 isk in stead of 3900 u know what i am talking about 3. make it so that u receive a warning when placing / changing a market order when the broker fee is abobve a certain limit which would also be a personal setting.

Well yesterday i made a mistake and placed a 1 mille order wich should be 100k.Costed me bout 25 mille. This is a human mistake wich is my own fault so i don't mind. However the thing we are talking about here is not so much a human mistake.IT's allways because of lag that i get this problem wich is why i think CCP really should do something about it.After making this topic yesterday it happened again half an hour later and it is annoying as hell.

Edited by: Callista Sincera on 25/05/2009 11:04:10 Hilarious that we get confirmation windows for buy orders below average (or sell orders above) but not for cancelling orders.
I've come to the conclusion that Eve's interface is too bad to simply be bad by chance. It's obviously been designed for the sole purpose of annoying the user in every possible way.
I.e. asking for confirmation on below-average buy orders might save the careless trader a couple of isk (100 and a 5 minute wait to be exact), but it is much more likely that the order is fine and that he's going to ignore any further nagscreens - including the very useful "buying way above average"-warning (which can save billions). |

Right there , allmost 50% of my 300+ orders is below regional average.Because DUH i want to make profit. So every time i start updating my orders i get 150 times the message i am buying way below regional price.Waste of time if you ask me.The warning you are buying way above average then get's overseen because after click 120 to remove that annoying warning i am buying below regional average one doesn't read the text any more.
My own fault?Yes , but with a better inmplementation of warnings this would not happen.

yes, please
1) separate the "modify order" from "cancel order"
2) separate the "view market details" from "trash item"
3) add a confirmation dialog for "cancel order", how many times I cancelled an order accidentally and didnt know what I cancelled after that?! At some places there are ridiculous confirmation boxes but for cancel there is none. |
