I think it would make more interesting the game.
In order not everyone and his dog is flying the same fugly ship all the time.
This is a big galaxy. We want variety.
I say, nerf rate of fire and recharge rate of Ravens so they are not THE missions ship any more, and other battleships become more interesting :)

Plenty of ships can outperform either of those ships in missions. All you need is a decent amount of skills, and a brain and performs slightly better than the average internet user.
Nerfing ships, or a class of ships, just to herd the lemmings into a new easy win machine...nah.

Nerfing a ship simply because many people have trained for it would be ret arded.
There are several other ships than can burn through missions just as well or even faster.

I would call this a troll. Calling for a ship nerf because everyone is flying the Raven for Missions. Every ship has a role that it should play, and the Raven's role happens to be level 4's.
Although a Caldari Navy Raven with 8 highs, 7 mids, 4 lows, and Rate of fire and ECM bonuses would take the CNR's out of PvE, and into PvP where faction was ment to be.

No. Don't nerf them. It makes me feel extra superliciously special undocking in a different missioning ship and be greeted by a blob of Ravens which seem plausibly designed and inspired by a stereotyped kung fu prancing bird stance.

Torp ravens can spank towers pretty nicely too. Other than ratting/missioning that's the only place they should be really.
I've always liked the ship (well, except for how fugly it is), but it almost has no place in 0.0.

Nerfing a battleship just because it's more commonly used in missions than other battleships means you also needlessly nerf the pilots who enjoy using that ship in PVP.

Ravens were already nerfed. Get out of Caldari space, come to Amarr space and you won't see nearly as many Raven/CNR/Golems. My CNR has sat in a hanger for a year and I've pretty much stopped using my Golem for anything other than fighting Angels. I use a Paladin for pretty much everything else. Instant ammo switching an no reloading FTW.

can you point me to the ammar ship that can come close or even better than a raven for lvl4s?

Last I checked the only people using CNR any more were Chinese Macros who can;t read patch notes.

a) bad troll...its not even close to a good troll
b) if there was EVER a proposed change to the CNR/Raven/Golem that would make it less viable as a PVE class of ship, the uprising from the mission runner population would be enough to keep CCP at bay. After all, CCP care more about the 75% of the subscribers in empire running missions, risking nothing to make a ton of cash than they do anyone else. |

Now why would you nerf Raven/CNR ? The ship is as good as useless in PvP. It's a purebread PVE ship, no need to nerf it at all. It has it's role. |

CNR's are good, as are Golems.
But Paladins are definetely better at some missions and the Nightmare is probably the best mission runner overall.

The enabling of MWD in missions will do more for ship variety than nerfing the Raven would.

This OP somewhat reminds me of the current UK goverments approach to secondary education.

Problem: You got a bunch of selective-intake schools doing well, so that all the parents want to send their kids there, and a bunch of other schools in the area doing rubbish so no-one wants to send kids there.
Solution: Nerf the good schools by withdrawing budget and pouring money into the badly managed schools, thereby lowering everyone to the same substandard level. Woo solved (hey at least its fair guys!)
