EVE Online Apocrypha 1.2.3 deployment is now live and Tranquility is open for business. This deployment focuses on a critical fix that was having an effect on players jumping through stargates along with some other fixes.
We would encourage anyone who is experiencing any game play issues to submit a bug report and we will investigate the matter as soon as possible.

Edited by: Sky Grunthor on 26/05/2009 13:53:18 Warp disrupt bubbles will now keep you from warping out of them, but they no longer grab someone out of warp. We tried this several times. If a bubble is on a gate and you warp to the gate at range (say 50km) you will conveniently land on the gate at that range.
If you warp to a bubbled gate at 0km, you will land on the edge of the bubble, just like always. If there's an in-line bubble and you warp to the gate at 0km, you will get caught off the gate on the edge of the bubble. However, if you warp at any range to a bubbled gate, you will not get caught by the bubble.

Warp disrupt bubbles no longer pull ships out of warp if they warp in at range (30-100km). We tested this extensively- if a ship warps to a bubbled gate at range it is no longer pulled into the bubble.
You still cannot warp out of the bubble, and if you warp to a bubbled gate at 0km you'll get caught on the edge of the bubble. However, if you warp to the gate at range (30-100km) you'll land at range, nowhere near the warp disrupt bubble.

Is there a reason for this new feature?
Or did CCP just fixed something what was not broken (again)?

I am amazed that after 2 hours, CCP still have not replied to the bug above. Even an acknowledgement would suffice!

the warp bubble bug has been happening for over a week since the last patch. For some reason no one has acknowledged it nor made any attempt to fix it.

CCP,....is there going to be any fixes for the sound issue? Its kind of dishartening to go into a mission and NOT HERE A DARN THING,..NO GUNS,..NO MISSILES,..NO SWOOSH,..NO BOOM! NOTHING! I was in mission the other night and even the bud that i was in with commented about it,..."Kind of quite huh" I remember a year ago when i got into the game, i really liked the sound effects, really made the game exciting, interesting. One of my corp mates listens to other music when hes in mission, only because he cant here the sound effects, I cant count the number of ships that he has lost due to his attention being drawn to other things other than the mission, because hes listening to other music outside or EVE. Kmon guys,......I know you guys have other more pressing things,...but get the sound right,...OK! Thanks -=+>xXx<+=- What was that,....Did i here a ship go POP! Naaaaa,...i herd a PIN DROP!

Upon logging in my alt whom is docked in a station, the station did not load. It's a black screen with all the normal station windows on top, including my items and ships and the station control panel thingy.
If I'm able to reproduce the issue I will try to figure out how to submit a detailed bug report. I am hoping though this is just a one time glitch due to the patch and if I restart it it will be fine.

Warp disruption spheres no longer pull you from warp...such fail CCP.
Please say this is a bug and not some new "feature". There is already more then enough ways for people to avoid any sort of combat in your PVP orientated game....

Here's an update to the new warp bubble behavior. We tested this with interdictors, HICs, and mobile warp disruptors- if you warp in at range to the bubble you will land at that range.
The odd thing is that if you warp to a gate at 50km, and there's an in-line bubble 20km off the gate in your direction, you end up 70+ km from the gate. It looks as if the warp calculation is now made off the edge of the bubble instead of the gate that you're warping to.

It seems that the patch cannot be applied to the client provided by Steam. At this point I'm reading a constant corruption issue though the client worked fine straight from Steam prior.
Does CCP send its patches to ValvE's distribution servers? -----

Oh no, not again....
Anybody having the crc or checksum crap again? I'm nervous to DL the new update..... I still haven't heard from CCP about the last time....
Last patch, (and all patches since apochrypha came out) I'd get an error message about the patch..... then have to download the full client over and over and over to get it to work.
I don't even know at this point how many days I've paid for and not been able to play.
So again, before patching..... anybody had this issue again?

Looks like the Steam Distro servers got the patch. My Steam client grabbed it a few minutes after posting here, so.. I'm good to go. -----

1 for 2 had that problem tho it didn't blast the client, i'm on linux/wine tho maybe that why, i'd recommend the manual patch download
also asked me to reboot after patching....riiiiiight, why would you EVER have to reboot a computer due to a an update to a video game....no valid reasons exist, luckily wine gets me around that rubbish

not directly a wine issue, this occurred on a client for whom the in client update bricked (appeared to have downloaded a corrupt version of the patch yet still tried to install it, CRC anyone?). had to install a manually downloaded patch on that client...other clients patched fine in game.
its dxdllreg.exe that is trying to request a reboot indicating that something in the patch bricking tripped off a check up on DX thus asking for a reboot...
i would assume the same could happen on any OS if the patcher tries to apply a corrupted patch

I can confirm this.
there was a mobile small warp disrupt bubble (T1) 90km on a gate in 0.0
I warped to the GATE at 100km (using right click, stargates, select gate, warp to 100km) and landed ~190km from the GATE due to the bubble.
It seems like now instead of calculating landing distance on edge of a pull/tractor bubble within range of a warpable object it simply takes the bubble and use that as if it WAS the object you warp to.
summation: code that replaces the celestial object as warpto point still works. code that overrides the distance you selected when warping to celestial object with the distance that places you on edge of bubble DOES NOT WORK.
ps. this bug showed up in the previous TQ version, haven't tested if it shows up aswell in 1.2.3 but guessing from previous posts I assume it does. __________________________________________________

I can confirm that we are working on the issues related to Warp Disruption Bubbles listed in this thread. They are not new, we became aware of them internally on the 19th, and we are working hard on producing a quality fix that does not affect anything else adversely. As you can guess warping and warp to distances are a rather big system in EVE, bubble or no bubble, so we want to make sure everything is OK with the fix. We in QA are testing this at the moment and, assuming it passes, will release it sometime very soon. (No need for a TM on that one, we're on it.)

Sry CCP, but... I live in 0.0.... the first issue with gates were horrible. I cant believe, that these problem wasnt recongnize by the QA Team.... but, ok, maybe serverload was a key to this problem...
But now the warp bubble problem...
Seriosly... the QA Team also needs a patch...

From an RP perspective the new bubble mechanic is exactly what one would expect! The warpdrive of a ship locks onto a gravitational well, and we have to assume that a warp disrupt probe creates such a well that masks the normal gravitational well of a gate, to lure ships onto it.
So instead of locking onto the gate the ship warpdrive locks onto the probe. So if you say you want to warp in at 100 km you will warp in to 100 km from the gravitational well your ship believes is the gate, but is actually the probe
Just saying...

Probes screen
Launching scan probes the Probes in space dont automatically update and scan results freeze, to get an update u need to click the directional screen and then come back to the system scanner screen
Quite annoying when u do a lot of scanning.
Also 2 probes in space and goto jump thro stargate or womrhole the normal warning screen do u wish to call probes in isnt showing up lost 2 probes before because of that
And ETA on fix ?
