I have been playing on the mavens poker for a few days and i have found that they seem to think they can change the rules as they see fit without consenting to parties envolved.
The scenerio was i sent isk to play on a big isk table with 6 players (i have always started and played tournies with 6 people at the table or even up to 10, i dont like playing with just a few peeps as par my gameplay style) and registered on the table as u do, i then went afk to make a cuppa while we waited for 1 more person as the table was at 5 out of 6, i then come back because i can hear the table start on my speakers only to find theres only 4 people so i started saying on the table that i didnt want to play and it wasn't right, so someone said if u dont want to play say now so i did and got ignored.
I then continued to get yogo's attention (which he purposely ignored as he was talking to other people in the chat), and the response i got from the bankers and players was -:
everyone thinks your a fool and you need to stop moaning
and i need to grow up lol
I mean seriously the bankers and especially the HEAD banker need to be trusted especially playing around with millions in fact billions of peoples isk.
The high steaks tables always seemed a bit sussed to me tbh.
I dont care if you lot all start flaming me, the fact of the matter is they changed the games stats after recieving my isk and registering on the table WIHOUT my knowledge and that is NOT right.

You left out the part where you *****ed and moaned like you were five years old or something. While your complaint might be valid, you handled it horribly and I'm glad you lost the game.

A lot (not all) of these kinds of things are rigged aka the house always wins.

oh ye i forgot this is eve!, loyalty doesnt come into the equation.
TBH i cant see why you are all saying im wrong and ganging up on me over a 200m rigged poker table.
Unless its goons running mavens ?
and erm yeah if u any of u was ripped off or felt like u was ripped off ur last 200m u wouldnt be too happy either.

Iona, it's generally against banking policy to change the type of game or maximum players for a game after it's been posted. What usually happens with large isk games is that 2~4 people register, and then get impatient and ask to play it 2~4 handed, instead of 6 handed. If everyone registered agrees, this usually isn't a problem.
I agree that you should get what you pay for, but I assure you no one is trying to scam anyone. Rather than come to the forums claiming so, you should send an eve mail to Selene D'Celeste detailing the situation, he handles any and all complaints and is the final word on these sorts of things.
I hope this instance hasn't ruined your opinion of us, we strive to treat everyone fairly, but we're all human after all.

My advice to you, Iona, would be to not go afk after paying money. Games changing from six to four people does happen from time to time, after all.
Of course, paying attention to the games you've bought into shouldn't be a problem for you, since hey...

well... yeah DrJ thats why i was so angry, was because i had no knowledge and wasnt even asked and just at it started the said banker was active and ignoring me, i sent him a few evemails stating that it wasnt right changing the game without my knowledge and i gave him plenty of oppurtunities to speak to me in the poker chat and continued to ignore me while i was getting flamed by mynna and his croanies, so i havent got much nice to say to him
added* hehe i like the way u have selectively taken 'parts' of the chat channel verifying my argument.
I get u dont like me mynna now move on.

The title of this thread is misleading. If it were a scam, we would have taken your money. A more accurate title would be:
"EVE Poker made me play a game i didn't want to"
Also, our banker was at fault for not getting all players to agree to changing the game, and for that I apologize. His further failure to heed your complaints was also bad. I would suggest you mail selene about this issue, as he (she?) takes this kind of thing very seriously.

Yeah i must admit i was mad at the time as i said earlier im sure anyone else would be losing there last isk in a fukd up way, but it isnt all the bankers fault like drj, i was mad and stuff and he was still placid, but some people in eve are so harsh its hard not to be mad.

Not that I was involved in this game in any way, but i was logged on at the time. I'm fairly sure that it took longer than one minute to decide to start with four players instead of six. I was considering joining the game, but decided not too as that would delay a game that had been prepping for about 30 minutes even further...
IMHO there is no real difference between a 6way game and a 4way game, at least that is my expecience with EOH.
I hope to play with you again on EOH though.

When 5 of the 6 ppl in the tourny are the same person it's not hard to win. cheating in eve poker is so so easy im amazed new ppl still come and play, amazed and happy with my easy winnings :)
The batteries in your new TI-X30 calculator are capable of recharging by themselves. Do not attempt to replace them.

What kind of subject is that.. "made me want to play a game I don't want to". Noone forces you to do whatever you don't want to, that's a blatant lie.
No clue wth this topic was intended to do, but the rest is irrelevant complains about something you should talk to the involved parties about, it's not for EVE forums.
