Cause I like females, and I like to look at them, I don't like to look at dudes. Besides, ALL dude avatars in EVE are butt face ugly. I don't roleplay my character, I just play the game. An avatar is a possibility for you to experience a virtual world in a virtual body. However you shape that body is completely up to you. If I manipulate all the things that have been said so far, according to you it's also silly to address a male avatar as 'he'; after all, you never know if there's actually a woman behind that character. I generally go for the 50/50 method in any MMORPG. Half my characters are male, the other half female. Did it in Guild Wars and WoW (neither of which I play now, by the way). Also did it in Fallout 3, and that's not even an MMO (though it is a mix between RPG and FPS). ----- Gallente flying Minmatar - A Podlog

So you're saying you're a totally straight guy who likes to watch male characters wiggle their butts for several hours a day in every game you play? I think you're in denial somewhere. Seriously though, roleplay is playing something other than yourself. It's not playing yourself. Why is that so hard to understand?
