So, as of downtime in about 6 or 7 hours, Caldari will have taken all the Gal systems.
Now, we have all been asking for weeks what you were gonna do when this time came, do you have an answer???
I am 99% sure you never expected anyone to take all the systems, guess you under estimated Caldari's dominance and Faillente's ability to defend systems.
The big question now, is what do we do now? Do we have to ship half our Militia to help our bro's out in Minmi space??? |

I think we all know we will get nothing from it, we did it because it was a challenge that gave us something to do and we had the best time doing it. News article or a monument would be nice though.

id expect at least a news article and would hope they would take this chance to improve FW but lets face it they gonna either ignore it or reset it since it seems CCP think that FW is nothing to 0.0 which is B/S

The caldaris superior numbers and the impact it might have was discussed when fw was first announced. This is hardly a surprise for ccp and probably one of the reasons fw and occupancy has no real meaning.

The Gallente massive Pee Vee Pee and whine about Caldari's Plexin...
You know those beacons that show up on the overview.... in order for the Caldari to take a system it means they have to go there and sit there for 10 ro 20 mins or so... If you wanted some Pew Pew, you could always, I don't know, go there and shoot them. But wait... You guys would rather blob up and gate camp. And your cool BS's and T2's can't go into the plexes to kill the Caldari T1 Frig fleets can they?!?!?

I like how Gallente says the caldari were doing 'pve' as though this is an indictment of the caldari, when in reality it is an indictment against the Gallente for utterly failing to show up to the fight.
It's only PVE because the gallente didn't show up at the CLEARLY MARKED BEACONS INDICATING WHERE THE CALDARI SHIPS WERE.
CCP specifically designed the plexes to be easy to find and to be the focal points of FW warfare, and that's where the caldari forces went.
Caldari were going to the right places. Gallente weren't.
Failing to hold onto even one of your systems is a failure of almost unimaginable proportions. You ought to at least have been able to hold onto OMS.

Gallente ****ed off plexing a while back. The Caldari taking all of Gallente space was just a matter of time and a little effort.
Well done though Squids

The Gallente lost interest in plexing when the Caldari started beating them at it. Then it suddenly became something they didn't want to do anymore.

Yes we are taking bets on how many Caldari rage quit if CCP reset everything at some point. Secondary betting on how many forum posts will show up the first 24hrs after such a reset.

Yes, that is what works out well on the Minmatar/Amarr front, we use the plexes to get fights. Seems to work pretty well as long as one side isn't camping the plex gate. That's the only thing they are good for.

We have had a lot of big fights over plexes in Lantorn the last few weeks..Plexes do work to get fights if you use them for that reason. The draw back is they all spawn just after DT.. Making whom ever has the most on just after DT the instant winner.
If plexes spawned randomly during the day, it would become a much more useful thing for PVP. All I know is if I was Gallente, I would have had my self some sniping dessies and been sitting in minor plexes waiting for them to show up. Seems like lots of instant PVP too me if you know where the other side is going..
How were we doing it wrong.. honest question, not smacking...
We warp to a plex, 6 ships in there 3 of us can enter. We go in, they run.
We warp to a plex 3 ships in there go in get jammed by the griffin and die.
We warp to a plex 1 ship in there, we go in, start the 1v1 get jammed by the NPC's and die
We warp to a defensive plex, the timer is ticking down, yet no one there.
We warp to plex 1 ship in there, we go in, tackle start shooting they warp off laughing waving the stab
Maybe the amarr/mini front is different, but after two months of the above.. WE GAVE UP EVEN TRYING! (and I'm sure thats the same on both sides).
You only need to count the number of stabbed ships that got caught in died in the month of may.. AND Those are the idiots who were plexing afk to get caught.. So imagine how many warped away!

tl:dr version:
1. PvP is consentual. They need to think they'll win. 2. Start a list. Ignore known WCS'ers from 22nd and go after the ones that like to fight over plexes.
As for the other complaints: This is Eve, adjust your tactics.

It would be awesome if Caldari could turn Minnie plexes. The entire FW map controlled by Caldari. That would be hilarious. ---------- This post brought to you by the worst PVP'er in Eve |

I can't believe there is anything still in EVE that is on a fixed respawn right after DT. Certainly FW plexes should respawn randomly throughout the day.

CCP in their wisdom has it that even if Caldari run Mini plexes they don't get rewards, however the Amarr get the points towards system capture not the Caldari... ALTHOUGH that would be kool, amarr v caldari to capture the bunker.

Not saying you were doing it wrong.. Just saying Plexs can make for good fights if both sides are looking for a fight. With that said, looking at the average Caldari posts about how they think they are winning FW because of PVE plexes..
Well I kind of figured they weren't doing plexes to get fights..
what I was saying is if you know they are gonna go to the plexes, get in them first. Force them to fight you if they want it.

What you squids can now do ,
is go ask mom for an old cardboard box ( if she has not got 1 ask a neibour or wrap some newspaper round a brick
put in on the floor in your living room , or out in the garden if you have one.
then you can walk round it for 20 minutes ( if you are a wanna be interceptor pilot you can try jog or run around it )
If one day you hope to fly t2 ships , I guess you could put the brick/box in a supermarket car park and ride your bike around it for 20 minutes ( but ask one of your dads to check the training wheels are secure )
If you want to try practise offensive plexing then try it some where a little busier , I would suggest middle lane on the M25 5pm on a friday .

Edited by: Jones Bones on 01/06/2009 18:16:38 I was in FW for months.....on every side of the fight. Check my "medals" or whatever. I can easily say only 5-10% of FW fights happened at plexes. The vast majority happened on gates and stations.
Here's how you make plex fights viable, and FW in general:
A system can only be captured if it is within jump range of a friendly system. No more plexing in backend systems 20 jumps from hubs. It would add a "front" to the wars and lead to more PvP and more plexing. =================== Go Bucks! |

my corp and i are 1 month into FW with the Gallente Federation. We came from a 0.0 sov war in wicked creek where the blobbage was crazy and the proliferation of titans was becoming tedious. fitting for double doomsdays and other silliness was getting out of hand. so anyways we came back to empire to try out faction warfare. in our first month i will have to say that the pvp is great fun. the fleets (when you can actually get one formed) were good sized and provided me with many hours of entertaining fun. then came the idea of running missions for my faction. well that proved to be extremely boring because i had to start with level 1, and then fly 13 jumps through hostile territory to run the mission and then run back. so next i started capping plexes. turns out that the risk vs reward is laughable. I hate mining with a passion, but the same amount of time mining would at least earn me some isk that i could use to help replace my losses in combat.
in the end, faction wars are still fun for the pvp, but orbiting a button for hours on end to capture plexes and systems is a little silly imo. most of us have real lives outside of the game and this time is not well spent orbiting buttons.
i dont know how to fix that part but to me it doesnt matter. the best part of FW is the readily available targets provided by caldari and amarr militias.
i play to have fun, for me pvp is fun so as long as there are war targets i'll keep shooting. _________________________________________________ Aurora Security is recruiting
