I was just curious, as il be honest and say I only came back to EVE because I could play via ingame Plexes.
I don't do alot, apart from crunch a few market orders and mine a little bit of ore now and then, probly about an hour a day whilst updating my market stuffs. It pays for my subscription tho, and keeps my skills ticking until I can dedicate more time to playing - I guess what I do in someways powers other players. Someone buys my stuff anyways..
Do you play with Plexes? If not whats your views.

im paying eve with isk for more then a year. and i love it!
im just a poor student, and the monthly rl money costs of eve is just a bit to much for me.
i dont care spending 600-700mil every 2 months, cause i make more then enough money in that amount of time grinding some missions and doing some market tricks.
if i couldnt pay eve with plex/gtc anymore i would probably stop playing.

Once you're playing eve to make money to be able to play the next month, it becomes a fancy chat client. If I was able to make the money I needed to pay 1 month's game time in an hour or so, and then go about my normal PVP the rest of the time, I would.
But since I can't and don't want to (if I make a lot of money I'd rather spend it -_- ...), then I'd rather just keep paying for it in ú.

I have plenty of money in real life so I prefer to play for fun and spend my isk on blowing up capital ships and faction ships.
That said I have used plex cards in the past and its a nice CCP has put together to help buyers and sellers of isk to join together.

I just had a look around the account pages and nowhere could I see plexes could be bought by ISK.... only the usual credit cards etc.
So what are you on about :p

You can buy plex cards on contracts ingame for 30days game time.

It's good because otherwise i wouldnt be playing EVE, but imo the prices are far too high at the moment. Before plexes it was 150-200m for 30 days...how did it get to almost 400??
Unfortunately i dont see what anyone can do about it except decreasing the RL cost of 30 day GTCs, which i cant see happening.

Once you get into the game and find a regular source of isk'come it will not be long before you start thinking of paying for the year instead of 60 days. Thats what I generally do with all my accounts now then concentrate on doing other things while the year counts down.

no, this is other players there buy the codes, then convert them, and sell them ingame with contracts. ccp dont make any more money than they used to, and people can still buy at shattered, or where ever they prefer to.

The fact people treat mission running as an in-game occupation is great, but fraught with problems (can't protect salvage, too much reward vs risk etc).
That people simply run missions to pay for time, to run missions to pay for time etc is exactly why agents should only be available to players engaged in faction warfare.

30 plex = ~370 mil isk
30 plex = ~12 euro
12 euro = ~1 hours work in RL
370mil isk > 12 hours doing level 4's
Personally i can't see why anyone would pay with isk unless the county they live in has a terrible economy and the EVE sub would cost a lot more in real currency.

Until the time comes where I can make the ISK for a plex faster than I can make the money IRL to pay for a monthly subscription I will continue to pay with dollars.
TBH, as I'm primarily pvp focused, I don't see that ever happening.

Plenty of people pay for there gaming via ISK-bought GTCs and PLEXs. This is why the prices are shooting up - I will personally be laughing when the price hits 30d = 500m ISK.

Takes me all of 45 mins to make the $30.

For the price fo two beers I can play EVE one month.
Since I drink beer, I add EVE to my beer budget.
And I use my isk for pre-emptive salvaging operations.

Thats a terrible idea. First CCP would have to tweak NPCs so I don't need to slot most of my mids to cap chargers and the lows to 4 rat specific hardeners incase I have to deal with players trying to gank me while I deal with 70 second lock times at 15 kms (level 4 blockade I just ran!). Second, they would have to tweak the training of skills to be shorter or make +5 implants a hell of alot cheaper/common, I am not spending several months sitting in dock paying for a subscription I can't use because it takes a week to train a rank 1 level 5 skill without implants for fear of being podded. Third, if it forces players to group up they better increase the rewards because 5 million isk after a split from 2 people for 30 minutes work could just about cover the cost of the ammo/drones popped/spent.

Maybe if you'd get a job instead of grinding missions, you'd actually have money to play

As for the views on P****s themselves: honestly, i have no problem with someone using their in-game ISK to pay for the game. However i have do have a huge problem with the other side of the equation, where people get ISK for RL cash, essentially RMT.
CCP is officially against RMT, so why did they develop PLEX? Bunch of hypocrites.

Or, it could be 16 hours of work IRL vs 4 hours of work on L4s in-game.
Depends where/what you work in RL, and how good you are at running L4s

Eh, I've got moon mining income. Pretty close to passive, and I enjoy the organizational aspects. In fact, industrialists seem like the best to buy game time, as their methods of making isk are often more passive (not that they still don't take some time).

My RL budget is pretty tight most of the time, so I usually go the plex route. I would prefer not to have to, since that sometimes limits what I can afford to do in game.

I have 3 accounts running, all via PLEX, while job hunting. Its pretty much its own full time job, but still fun.
