Hey CCP why cant we fly all of those awsome faction ships we see at missions and whatnot. seriously im no techie but how hard can it be? im sure there is balanceing and such to be done but isnt the time consumeing part makeing the ships and scripting them. Seriously come on guys lets see it happen.

I could go for this. They'd have to either be extremely rare (i.e. Tempest Tribal Issue), or just reskinned standard ships. Black Apocalypse, for example.

i would have to think they would be as rare if not rarer then faction ships. and quite expensive. Only reason i say this is because there are 300k people now playing lets get some more options. Now also we are starting to see more players with much more isk to spend. so it can also boost the eve market a bit.

I've always wanted to fly some of those sleek deep-blue Amarr ships, or the military-looking Gallente ones. Totally for it.
Tbh I'd love to see faction ships that are not simply an upgrade that costs a ridiculous amount, but rather adapt the original design to be more effective in areas it might have had a lot of trouble in before - while not being prohibitively expensive. |

Well i always thought that if you could have a couple different colors to choose from for the ships would be neat, like i've always wanted to have a black Rokh. or maybe even different looking versions of each class (little variations that don't change the design but make each ship somewhat unique). Though i will say that having ridiculously colored ships is out of the question, like an orange Domi.... |

The faction ships from missign sizes woudl be the most welcome i think. For exampel the factio tier 1 BC. How to balance? easy.. take the legatus.. make it a cyclone with 1 extra mid slot 10ms extra speed and the classical angel extra bonus (tracking).

Yeah. I'd much rather have that than a ton of additional ships. They could define a couple different areas on the hull that you can color with individual colors. But there could be some restrictions that you can only use color that go well together.

It would be nice to have non-faction frigates to fly such as the Medusa, Echo, Lynx, Fury, Swordspine and Styx. The non-faction Ixion would be nice too.
Maybe the blueprints could be available in pirate stations under a non-faction tab?
This is the info for the echo too - The Echo assault frigate was developed and produced by the Indocon Corporation early on in the first era of galactic conquest. Asteroid mining had become increasingly dangerous due to pirate traffic, and the first prototype of the Echo was made.

if not making the ships available to the puplic at least put in a body shop feature that allows you to customize your ships apearance. aside from just allowing your ship to look cool it could be used as a form of psychological warefare to make people think your ship is stronger than it is eg a tII variant

this to be honest, it makes me completely ignore the fact that the domi has a forehead the size of a small moon,it just fits in with the silly little crab parasites on its back i guess

I would love to see some of the color variations you see NPC agents flying. There seem to be two main ship builders for each race. I would love to see future ship variations from other corporations with different base color schemes.
I like the orange tristan that you can find Gallente agents flying every once in a while. Anyone have a pic?

I would love to see some of the color variations you see NPC agents flying. There seem to be two main ship builders for each race. I would love to see future ship variations from other corporations with different base color schemes.
I like the orange tristan that you can find Gallente agents flying every that could be an rp reason for it lawls. more corperations are suddenly releaseing new ship types.once in a while. Anyone have a pic?

I skimmed over this thread, didn't see if anybody has said the same thing as I'm about to, but would it be difficult to have a "garage" of sorts, where you can have your T1 ship reskinned to something that's already in the game?
Let's take the Dominix for example. You have your plain vanilla T1 Domi, and head over to Paco's Paint Plaza of Pleasure and ask to have your Domi reskinned. You could then choose (for some ISKies, Loyalty Points and possibly some other goods and/or even standings) to have it look like a Gallente Navy Dominox, or a Serpentis Dominix, or even go whole hog and make it look like the Infested Drone Dominix. It would still be your normal T1 Dominix, it would just look differently.
This should not be available to T2 ships, or other ships that are normally available to players. Likewise, ship skins that exist on player-available ships should not be available in the Garage (There's plenty of scamming, cheating and exploiting in EvE already). This "upgrade" could be made to work like a rig; a small "upgrade" slot will be available on every ship to represent the paintjob. It would be destroyed if the ship is repackaged or the upgrade removed. Also, the ship's icon in windows would not change - at best a small icon would appear in the icon's corner to show that the ship has been "pimped up". |

I would love a 1% chance that when you attack or get close to destroying any of those rat/drone ships, you have the chance to take out the pilot and then board his ship to take it

Actually the mechanic for getting faction ships would fit in just fine with this idea as it is... with one or two exceptions. Ironically, one of those exceptions is for a group of ships I would very much want to own... The EoM Hybrid turret wielding Amarrian vessels. For those few of us that are cross trained Caldari Amarr that ship would be a God send.
I personally would like to see every singe NPC boat have a capsuleer faction variant for us to play with. Right now as it is we don't even have any Faction Battlecruiser or Destroyer hulls to toy with. Anyone up for a Guristas Ferox... something to compete with a Drake for capsuleer moneybags.

while i love this idea there are alos many other faction ships with diferent models that they should release. i mean what are the implications of givieng players more options. but a great idea. /siogned

Well currently the primary mechanic for acquiring faction ships is one of the following...
1. Running missions for the faction and acquiring the BPC/Ship from the LP store.
2. Hunting down NPCs in low-sec or 0.0, occasionally Commander NPCs drop BPCs of factional equipment/ships.
The problem arises primarily from EoM, though it may exist with other races as well. To put it simply, there are no Commander NPCs to drop BPCs and no faction station for the faction to run missions from. So there's no way to get EoM factional ships unless such things were added.

well maybe there could be like a bpo exchange witha lp corp so that you could get those ships. and the drones ... ok so maybe the captureing ships idea is the best plan....... but with relally low percentages and a special expensive mod

I saw this Serpentis frigate in a mission once, Coreli Spy, I think it was. That ship was pretty neat looking. Coreli Agent is neat, too. I'd also love one of those Gallentean Pleasure Yachts, those are shiny too. In fact, let's have more yachts in general!
Also, can I has EoM black and blue Arby? I loves you forever... So shiny... And EoM 'Geddon, too... For that matter, just EoM everything, black and blue is so awesome.

Zymurgist, you're a man after my own heart. I love that fugly, half-prawn, whiskered ship with the parasite on the front. Someone else mentioned having corporation skins/logos... I'd love if a corporation could set up a skin for the ships in the corp, so we all flew under the same colors... I realize this would open the door for some FUGLY choices... but eh, whatever floats folks boats...
I'm for this, if it could be done without turning Jita and blobs into more WOW/Dalaran like resource hogs. (I hated WOW when I went into a city and had to wait 5 minutes for everyone standing around me to load because their friggin' equipment wasn't pre-cached.)
