Flame away... Skull
Ugh getting about 25 modules online that way really takes ages (30 min or so). How about you log in and only have about 2% cap. (and make cap injectors go offline yeah:P )

All these people keep talking about we cant have persistent ships because of what if u crash?
I have crashed to desktop maybe *once* outside of the times that everyone else has crashed, ie when the nodes went offline.
My ISP has *never* lost its connection, only when the nodes have gone down for everybody or a whole heap of people. This happens, but not very often (although more frequently lately).
I am in China - so if anyone was going to have trouble with crashes/lag its me, and I don't.
Get a real ISP and u wont lose connection - I am with Cable and Wireless - and I never, ever, lose connection.

Sorry to say but it¦s all about attitude. It are reall people at the controls and if they decide to log of when in trouble then it¦s their choice to do so.
Although maybe far fetched but teaming sounds like the only option. Teaming is hard to master and requeres alot of skills it seems, but once you get the hang of it it means that indy¦s and miners dont run around undefended on their journey¦s. It will make it far more harder for the log in gankers to be `effective`.
Problem with Teaming for miner-manufacture corporations is the fact that some do have to pick up a gun instead of making zillions of isk mining rocks or running factories.
Better ask yourself what is the real problem here. The log in gankers or the lack of preperation cq teaming.
It¦s a teambased game if some havent noticed. Better work on that and you will find that some problems that you have now wont be problems for long.
I disagree the simple way is to make people know its a punishable act and to enforce it just keep gameplay logs of people that r reported to do it often.

Got it all worked out now:
log off at a 0.0 safespot or in warp: you geta 2 minute invulnerable timer and cloak, after which you get warped to a random celestial object in system and stay for another 13 minutes before timing out.
log off at gate/station in 0.0: you get warped to a random celestial object and get a 2 minute invulnerability and cloak, followed by a 13 minute timer before you time out.
Being scrambled at a gate or station prevents the warp off and invulnerability timer. Being scrambled anywhere else does not.
Shouldnt this solve things reasonably, in that logging off ion a quiet system is still very possible and reasonably safe while doing so at a busy gate or somewhere else is no longer safe. Disconnected people get a 2 minute timer to get back in safe.
Only problem remaining is people that disconnect and stay that way. They run risk they havent chosen to.
