OK this is driving me insane now.
Every day small gangs of 2-5 ship often 1 or 2 bs with frig scouts use a form of log on and log off tactic.
The pilots log on say at 9pm eve time and scout the system they loged into and the surrounding 1 or 2 often using bms for gates at 100+km out they then for say half hour move around not together unless they get a good target ganking hauler cruisers and lone bs.
Then after 1 or 2 kills a small fleet will gather and head to them. Now with all the bms 1 of their ships will see the flet and run to a safe spot. So we move on after the others but the ship at safe spot has warned them and for a amazing reason the others will log off b4 we can get to them. once all hsi m8ts r off the guy at safe offten moves or will log to .
The problem with this is that its a staggered log off tactic and is v hard for players to prove its done often.
There is also a similare log on tactic where raiders that have logged off around 1 constelation will have a scout follow a target then log the raider infront of the targets direction on. Also appearing random so making hard to prove.

Clearly this game needs a better protocol for people who log off or disconnect themselves. Maybe they need to be autopiloted to the nearest 0.5 system, then autodocked at a random station in system. The Monkeysphere |

Whats the new "hot topic" this week? Hmmm.....perhaps we need more threads about it....

so for a pirate with a -5 sec rating gets auto piloted to a .5 then gets ganked by concord when he tries to leave? Yeah, that will be a fun game then! EDIT -> cuz i chose to

I agree that the login log off tactics are pertty poor I'm still suprised that thew local corps don't organise themselves better. Have small fleets do regular patrols of the area.
one thing about a pirate group is unless they are capable of fighting the fleets off they soon leave the aea when they realis the locals are not going to give them the kills they seek.
Alot of people seem to be more inclined to cry to the devs about problems instead of using their brains and doing it themselves (which is perfectly possible if only they thought about it for 5 minutes).
I have the body of a supermodel. I just can't remember where I left it... |

It would be good if players did pull together and think of ways to tackle the "log-off losers." They have no place in a game.
For a satrt they should be made social outcasts by the general Eve community!

What a brilliant idea.... Now, everyone camp in HED-GP and wait for the hordes of Xetic/CA/SA pilots to come on through while they're logged off, heading for Keberz.

I think the devs know that logging on and off is becoming a more problematic part of PvP.
People will log off, decide on a log on time again, log on then when the locals have gone about their business again and attack them. By the time the locals are organised, the enemies will be either gone or in safespots.
Same thing goes for "insta-dock" bookmarks. Many people run to dock instantly when hostiles enter local. Maybe it's time the stations have the warpdisruption-bubbles aswell??
The 2 current biggest flaws in PvP are definately safespots and logging on/off without being able to do anything about it.
and as far as i know they will be adddressed with Shiva (yes we'll have to wait)

Make ships remain in space.
Fixes log on/off gangs of bothersome alts, fixes logoff under fire tactics, fixes the lack of territorial control.
let the ships warp a couple million kilometers away upon logoff, but please let em remain in space so there is risk to it.

I wish they would just ban these types of players. These people are not honorable gamers, they are pathetic cowards who bastardize gaming in every sense of the word. Gaming is about skill, not about exploitating loopholes in the game.

But that would mean banning all of CA though!
(that is a joke by the way).

and if you get stuck and for some reason dont warp and ur ship is stuck on the gate youd be happy about that as well?

If your internet connection goes down for 24hrs, thats your problem. EVE runs a persistent universe and its up to you to connect to it. What about asking a corpmate to move your ship? -- We are the Octavian Vanguard www.octavianvanguard.net http://www.serenitymovie.com |

Um, how do you ask him to move your ship if your connection goes down and you can't access the game or the net?

I agree with ships staying in space. When I park my ship and go to sleep at a safespot in RL, my ship doesn't disappear!
Its absolutely insane to expect them to just dissolve, poof, pop, disincorporate, vanish even.
I want to be able to find a napping persons ship in space.
Maybe CCP could add a ***KLAXZON*** alarm system when ships are in space and their AFK flag is turned on which will activate on scanner proximity and WAKE YOU UP AT 3AM to save your precious from exploration exploitation.
Signed, Sealed and Posted. Make ships stay in space forever just like in RL!

It would mean banning the 2 or 3 CA corps that hang round 4gq. Best example of this was lastnight when 2 of their ruptures got outnumbered so jumped from LGK to MB4 then logged as a frig fleet followed them with a bs second behind.
I wont mention any names as GMS dont do naf all about it any way.
