Edited by: MinorFreak on 30/09/2004 17:47:42 yee gods! i need ot learn a whole new ubb code system? Originally by: S'Daria
Originally by: MinorFreak you know. i just had a brilliant(?) thought: why don't i just make a new character, fly around failing missions left right and center and collect the info...course, i wonder how many times you can say, "stuff it! i don't want that mission" to an agent before you can't even talk to that corp's agents. (but still...might be worth it just for the efficacy)
Interesting idea. However, I think the agent will stop giving you missions after your standing goes below 0.0? Can you standing go below 0.0? Hmm...gotta try this. Great idea
just tried it with one of my favorite intelligence agent in penirgman by the name of Tava Jopri. wonderful lass, except i had a horrible spat of bad luck with her using a gallente recruit fresh out of tutorial. (was able to get 27 missions down the tubes within 10 minutes.)
apologizes for the barely eligible quality but i was worried about bandwidth
I'm speculating that the crappy percentage of kill missions (2 out of 27) was probably because i was- too low in standings
- not equipped with anything other than n00b gear
- agent quality sucked
i can test each of these by redoing my character with the emphasis on each of the above points one by one ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

Edited by: Kaladryn on 01/10/2004 00:18:10 There are exceptions in every case. Take the three level3 Sisters of Eve agents in ROIR for example, they give 95%+ kill missions, but are in normally courier divisions. Personally I don't think there is a standard rate that will carry across from corp to corp, I think it is individual to the corporation, perhaps, or maybe agent by agent who knows.
Also, did you make sure you always approached your agent in the same class of ship? (ie hauler or combat ship -fyi shuttle counts as a combat ship for agents). Did you always make sure you were all the way "on board and seatbelt buckled" befored talking to them? (otherwise it goes by your last ship)

Edited by: MinorFreak on 01/10/2004 15:14:35 Edited by: MinorFreak on 01/10/2004 15:13:19 yes, we're well aware of the difficulty in maintaining a controlled environment. What i am doing to simply focusing on trying to figure out what IS a controlled environment (ie. what are the variables)it's sorta like knowing the answers before you know the questions I'm also heavily cognizant of the possibility using low level characters to run around testing things might be handicapped by "n00b friendly" agent mission exceptions (ie. agents possibly having a "n00b" pool that might bias any tests we do with throw away n00b characters)because of that, S'Daria, even though just two of those missions in that pic are 'kill' and the rest 'courier', i can only guess that my starter ship and gear must have triggered a "omg n00b, dumb down the combat missions"...i'll have to test that theory with another gallente n00b who took frigate lvl3 specialization instead of social lvl4 specialization OKAY, GOOD NEWS! I just finished positioning a lvl3skill frigate in escrow for a new character and it seems to do the trick (even with zero slots filled) to fool the agent into thinking i'm not a n00b. I'm now in a position to crank out "declined" missions like it's going out of style. I'll start on 'Intelligence' agent (tava jopri) who has 0 quality and is perfect for me to find out the base mission reward as well. weeeeeeee ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

Well I can't belive this dropped to page 2. I honestly think it deserves a sticky. As to the update on my Production work:
18 Missions: 15 Courier 1 Kill 1 Mining 1 Trade
Oh and I am in a Megathron doing these (very sad I know) as I dont have any cruisers at the moment.

Ok, but that's still a small sample.

Agreed about the small sample. That was more of a bump on my part.

Edited by: Fjellu on 12/10/2004 09:58:23 Cool info.
I've done work for several corps, mostly combat divisions and agents. I have a total standing of 18,5+ with Amarr, Caldari, Gallente and Minmatar.
I thought there were only 4 combat divisions; intelligence, internal security, security and surveillance. Now I can add Command to those worth doing
In my experience the ratio is the same for all of them 95/5, also for intelligence.

Doing missions for a Mining Division corp atm and this is what I have:
Courier: 14 Mining: 2 Kill: 1
Of the 14 Courier 2 were imporant and 2 were multiple courier missions.
Total Mission count: 17 so far
Still too small of a sample, but I find it weird that I'm not getting, well, Mining missions!!!
This mission mix if from a Level II agent. Once I get to a Level III agent I'll restart the data.

Astrosurveying
Trade 1/16 Kill 1/16 Mining 9/16 Courier 5/16
Got too bored with the huge courier missions that these particular agents were giving me to continue, but it seems to be about 50% mining, 33% courier and the rest trade/kill missions.
