When i made my character i picked everything related to combat as i wanted a combat oriented character. So uh, why is perception my 2nd lowest attribute (next to charisma)???
I have high willpower but that is only the secondary, i have good int/memory which are not combat related.
Now a long time later its too late to change obviously and i am slow at training the things i want to specialize in
It would be good if players got a chance to re-organize there base attribute points after playing for like 4months and so they know more about attribute points and what they want to specialize in.
There is nothing i can do about this, it sucks |

Most of the attributes are already decided when you pick a bloodline, what EVE does later is only fine-tuning.
Intelligence and Memory are important for a fighter character, too. Most of the ship-fitting skills (electronics, engineering etc) are int/mem based, as are many secondary skills for T2 ships/weapons. You will be thankful for high modifiers there later.
The attibutes don't make as much of a difference as people might think. When you have high level learning skills and implants, the few points difference in your base attributes hardly matter, and when the advanced learning skills come out, the difference will be even smaller.

The difference is big, I have all learning skills 5, all 5 implants (+3 each) and still i.e. research project management (rank8) to lvl5 would take a week less than BS (rank 8 as well) to lvl5.

Edited by: Meridius on 19/09/2004 10:35:41 Yep i have the same problem, i'm a fightin char but my attribs are not where i want them to be. Considering there is no real instruction when you first start playing as to how critical attribute points are i think it would be great to get to redo your base attrib points after you know what you want to do in eve (first few months).
Oh, as a fighter, there are a lot more gunnery skills to get to V then there are engineering/elec. Also, spaceship command skills...lots of those need to be V'd as well.
It's not like you can specialize for combat stuff in this game. Nerf bat going around and around means SP going around and around. ________________________________________________________

I am against changing primary/secondary attribute on currently existing skills, but I think they should make willpower primary on some of the skills that aren't out yet.

How about letting the player decide which skill he wants counted as primary or secondary for a particular skill? With gunnery, for example, you can choose between willpower or perception as your primary. Or for mining, you can choose between memory or intelligence. __________________________________________________
