Try the wikipedia page about the internet and maybe you will find out how much fail your post just is. It is basicly impossible to erase something. Sure if it is hosted in germany or another EU country it wont be a problem. Sadly they dont host it there, so it is basicly impossible to erase it. So you got to block it.

You really shouldn't. You should pay 10 nerdy guys to trace who acessed the pages, pick a nice public prosecutor (looked that term up, I hope it fits. I mean someone like a disctrict attorney) and then let the police confiscate the computers. A lot more simple for all sides involved and required to take legal action anyways. It's not like you end up on such sites without looking intentionally for them (I'd presume).
Let's talk about games for a minute. The Quake series (1-3) by ID Software, amonst many other games like C&C Red Alert 1 (English version) because you could run over soldiers and they leave that bloody splat-thingy - the German version had robots leaving oil-stains and making metal-crush-noises when running over and was thus ok - are on a list of media that can not be sold publicly, be advertised or discussed by journalists (since it could be potential advertisement). This list is in control of an institution called "BPjM (Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons)".
Should the initial plan to install software that filters internet content come true, you're just one vote of the German Bundestag away from blocking all sites which refer to media on said list - especially given the recent political trend to blame Counterstrike (and similar games) for the school shootings (feel free to google that). Counterstrike is funnily enough not on that list but a few more "violent" games are.
The legal system behind media getting on that list got overhauled a few years ago and the BPjM now is a little more reasonable and hands out these nice "not to be sold to people under 18 years of age" lables but it still puts stuff on that is ok to be sold in other countries around Germany.
I do not want to discuss the judgement behind the creators of said list - besides it also fields books, movies, music, etc. for all kinds of reasons (like pro-NS **** or ****-****) but to make the internet "safe" (as the German Department for Family ****, which demands the current filter-thingy, wants) you need to censor the living hell out of the internet.
I for one find that very questionable, given that such measures can be abused easily.

Right now speeding isnt allowed, but without much changes they could outlaw driving a car!
While internet regulations would be new, so you should watch what idiot politicians want to do with it, this isnt a reason not to do it.

Really, look up how the internet works. You think it is too easily abused when they let ISPs block certain sites, but it is fine when they force ISPs to log who goes to such site and then report it to the police? How is that anything better? (And no you cant just use 10 nerds to find out who accessed a web page that isnt yours). |

I dunno it's not like that really. This is an election year and the ruling parties are just looking to win some votes (gaining control of an internet blacklist is just a bonus). Although everyone who knows anything about the internet knows this blacklist is a stupid and bad idea there's a LOT of people here who barely know how to turn on a computer. Basically the entire 50+ population. All they hear is "protecting the children by blocking child ****" and to them that's perfectly reasonable.
It's a problem all over the world really. The older generations don't understand the internet, and they're the ones in charge right now. All we can hope for is that the internet lives long enough to see some politicians who actually grew up with it come into power, cause it's pretty clear that at least here in Germany protesting, signing petitions and calling up your gov representative doesn't accomplish jack ****. |

well my two cents on this one.Linkage
this has just been anounced by norbert colon today ...its gonna be made up of about 20 peeps monitoring the t`internets "and saving us from the bad peeps .me wonders how long it will take for these 20 peeps to end up being 20000 civil servants monitoring (from GCHQ) our every move on the nets .
an interesting paralell from history of british gov medddling is that at the height of the british empire less than 50 people actualy work in the foreign & comonwealth office ...and now look at the size of it .

The thing is we've needed Cyberwarfare defence for a long time, and the Government has sat on their money pilfering hands, while the Chinese and Ruskies infiltrate and disrupt commerce and government systems. |

You know, there is always protesting, in large numbers.
