Originally by: Chance winner I'll be having a word with my location agent, and promise only to buy out all the advanced learning skill books near Tripoli , or at least the memory ones first just cause thats the one its logical to train first.
Memory will be rank 3 according to eve-i, so unless your memory is 1.5x (rank 3... divide by 2 since memory is primary) more than your int, int is best.

Thanks, I can afford 80mil each for your information. But that's not fair to me. And the person who is selling at that price makes an insane profit by exploiting the spawning mechanics of skill books.

The day of reckoning...
Will the 5mil price tag prevent a buyout? I sure hope so!

I hope there will be enough of the skillbooks to last a lifetime...
I hate how they (CCP) have handeled it before, just a few hundred at each region.... Not the way to go with skills...

I was lucky (and clicked fast enough) and got 3 of the 5 skills at reasonable prices (5.0-5.3M).
There must have been only 15 or 20 of each skill at the few stations in Verge Vendor that sold them. 10 Minutes later, lowest price was 5.5M. Now, one hour after reboot, Eidetic Memory (probably the most wanted one) is for sale for 50M.
This is INSANE. Make more of them. Now! -----

sephiroth wins the most annoyed award, and I can quite see why. Hopefully they will release more over time and that the greedy people (who are after all playing the game) are left with a load of skill books that they cant sell. That would be justice

I don't get why this is a big deal. It's one of the few opportunities CCP creates for players to speculate on the market. People take a big risk in trying to take advantage of this, because nobody in their right mind is going to by any of these skills for the prices they are currently being sold for. As was mentioned in another thread, just put up a region wide buy order for a little over 5 mil, and by the time the NPC's are restocked tomorrow, you'll get your precious skills.
In a few days, the people that have tried to corner the market will realise their attempts have failed, and drastically lower their prices.
IMO this all adds to the reality of the market, new items aren't introduced in large quantities, people will try to take advantage of that, and rightfully so.
Nevertheless I'm a happy camper, I got my advanced learning skills for NPC prices

Advanced Learning Skills should replenish every Downtime or even sooner, at 5-5.5million per skill from NPC Schools. If you can't get them, wait till the next downtime. If you dont believe me, OR ISD, then go ahead and buy the skills for 100% - 1000% markup.
Quote: [ 2004.09.28 13:31:06 ] Libertina > Xharky: NPC reseeds happen more frequently
<- When i asked how fast would skills respawn, and whether it was every downtime Put up a Region wide buy order for about 6-6.5 mil (To account for NPC price increases due to buyout), and when they respawn, you will get it.

Yes this is not the first time CCP has done this and it surely will not be the last. I am sure there have been countless petitions, forum posts, and other feedback about this subject and nothing has changed for the better. It's simple Supply and Demand. You KNOW there is going to be a huge demand for most new skills, yet CCP programs the NPC corporations to only have a small amount available. Makes NO sense to anybody I've spoken to. Let's do some math...12,000 players at peak time. 200 skill books released per day by NPC Corp. 50% of the players have the need for the book. How many days does it take for all 6000 players that need book to get it? The other nice thing is that CCP likes to release new items and toys after downtime. That's 5am to 8am in the States. Not much of a prayer for most of the US players that work or goto school to get first day releases. But why complain?? No one's listening anyway............... |

Sorry to hear that everyone. :( Also sorry that the dev's completely ignored this thread.
I managed to get myself a set. Here's a tip: go to an abandoned region, in my case I went to the Everyshore region.
Anyone who buys more sets that they need should be shot. Maybe limiting the purchase of skills to one per player per day?
Something should be done about this ASAP so the people who missed out can still get these vital skills today.

I'm happy; I got in right after DT and got eidetic memory (which I can train now) and clarity (which I can train in 18 hours). Since it will be at least 5 days for all the others I'm in no rush; by then they will be back to stock prices.
If anyone wants to pay a huge mark up for the privledge of getting clarity early let me know, otherwise it will sit in my hanger for a day. :-)

Well I have to say that the people that bought the books are trying to make money on an open market.. You would need to be a rich player or a skilled player to see this is a way that you can make some isk.. By trading on the open market with skills books.
I wonder how many of you would be whining if you had done the same thing...
Just a thought..
