I would just like to ask that you make sure it is possible for everyone that wants to get the new learning skills to get them. With remote armor repairers people bought out the *whole* lot on the first day. With adv. learning skills this would *REALLY* suck. So please, make sure there are like 500 of each adv. learning skill at each skill book station.

500 is not enough,never is...
And people will ALWAYS buy the lot... Just WAIT a day or maybe two, then there should be plenty at normal price...

if they just put like 50k of each book in each system at a set price, someone would have to have a lot of money and severe mental probs to go and buy them all up. -------------------------------------------

CrayC, could you tell me why it's fair they get the skill 2 days before me? They *are* learning skills after all, and they will be depriving me of skill points.

Edited by: Shadowsword on 18/09/2004 21:40:11 So you're making a thread because you might have to wait 2 days to train a skill?
You're not "forced" to wait for anything, just log just after the update and buy your skills.
Man, it's good for you that you posted with an alt...

I have to admit....I'll probably be waking up right after DT (about 7 am) just to make sure I get them. ---

1. I will lose valuable training time having to wait for those skills.
2. I will not be in after the update... I have a life... I don't spend all day in front of the computer.
3. This is not an alt, it's my only char.
Don't be so quick to assume things about people.

Well, this has to be a record for "earliest whine ever"...
If it's so critical to you that you get the skillbooks the second they're released, get someone you know to grab a set just after downtime for you.
Think. Adapt.

The point is to start training immediately, not to simply get them.

He stated he wouldn't be online straight after the update, thus he's not able to start training immediately anyway. It follows the most important thing is to therefore get them immediately.

Then all of the people who have a problem with you doing the exact same thing you are complaining about will now know just whom to declare war on, yes?
People making a mad grab for skillbooks isn't as big a problem as it makes out. Just have a friend of yours on to grab you a set after DT. You have a problem, and solutions have been provided.
Anyway, waiting one day for your advanced learning skills ain't gonna kill you. Get some perspective - you're missing out on a tiny fraction of skill training, since you are already training other skills at that time. It's like you forgot to train a new skill for maybe an hour or so while you went to lunch.
Of course, you DO always have the option of just paying a market ***** for the skillbooks, if it's that critical to you. Welcome to a free market.

I'll probably check for the skills right after down time, but if I don't find them at the NPC release price, no problem....I'll just wait a day or two. A couple of days delay in getting all of the advanced skills will cost me 10,800 points per day, but with 22 million skillpoints already on board, the shortfall will hardly be noticeable.

There is a famous story about the Hunt brothers. In 1980 they tried to what is called "corner the market" and bought huge amount of silver (one third of the world's supply it's believed). But when people realized this the prize fell and the brothers lost a fortune.
The same should apply to the before mentioned skill books. It would quickly become be clear if someone buys up the whole thing. And that individual could be sitting on a big bunch of overpriced skill books when new batches would be put on the market. It's relatively easy for the game devs to control the supply

Perhaps the devs could reseed the market with the new skills at every one of the six reboots that will happen on patch day
