Just an idea but...
Whats going to happen when Shiva arrives and every major corp in Eve has their own Stations, factories, research stations and have them all protected by sentry guns? Obviously somebody is going to come along and attack your prized assets. Wouldnt a support cruiser then be a valuable corp asset in such a case with its unique abilities to defend and repair your assets?
The support cruiser is a purely defensive ship. Why do you think it cant use weapons? I dont believe it was designed for battle at all. I do believe it's true use will become apparent once Shiva arrives and anyone who owns one of these BPO's will then and only then reap the benefits of owning this bpo.
My advice is to lock this bpo away till then or research its build efficiency. In just a few weeks time those people questioning the cost of the bpo and the ship in general will have been converted and if you still want to sell then, at least your going to find a better audience for your auction.

What Naal said is true.
I'd hate to see such a beauty go for less than what an assault frig bpo costed (which are the most useless ships atm).
At least this one has a (potentially) crucial role in combat.
We will need to see a lot of changes in his game to actually see them in combat though.
I'll stfu now and watch how this auction goes.

Every man and his dog has the skill requirements for assault frigs and can use them and more importantly WANTS to use them. Lots of eve players tries to buy one (just follow the WTS: assault frig threads on the boards here). This is the reason why assault ship bpo's are sold for such enormous sums, because producers believe they can re-earm the initial investment after a couple of months (which still remains to be seen thou).
On the other hand look at the threads where people offer to sell their support cruisers. To be honest i have yet to see a "i'll buy one" post in one of those threads. Only some people are interested in using them and most of them are scared away by the insane skill reqs and the yet still high prices. so you can actually sell only very few of them which makes it very hard to earn an initial investment of a couple of billions back in a decent timeframe. Thus the bpo value of a logistics cruiser is much less then the bpo value of an assault frig.
It is all about offer and demand and market dynamics. it is not really about which ship is useless or not. in my opinion no ship is useless, else ccp wouldn't have brought them in :)

Hi Dizirge, could you let us know if you are going to drop the asking/reserve price. Im sure there are people out there who are really interested in obtaining this (me included) but aren't bidding because they don't want to go to 4 billion and feel that its pointless bidding as they their bid won't be valid. If you could clarify the details and let everyone know what the situation is then you will get more people putting bids in and of course the more bids you get the higher the end price and more isk in your pocket.... hmm, thinking about it maybe you should just let me know and just before the end of the auction

thanks for all your liveley banter its been great to get peoples opinions...nope it will still go for 4 bil minimum..now i probably wont sell it but i do believe when shiva comes out this ship will have a major impact in the game. im not in a rush to sell it and im now more then interested to see if alot if u guys are right or will it surprise everyone and become a popular ship. whichever way u look at it u aint gonna smash through a corp barricade with some of these backing you.
