Instead of whining, they instigate a large series of (perfectly legitimate) countermeasures to lower the safety of mining and destroy the assets of miners. Miner ability to meet demand is diminished, but demand for minerals increases due to increased number of ships being destroyed. Supply cannot match demand. Mineral prices rise, and thus so do the prices of everything depending on them. Those miners that are left are able to sell their product at an inflated price due to the efforts of the null-sec dewllers. Hulkageddon will end soon, and high-sec miners will come back out to mine again. In the current market, they'll make a lot of money. Null-sec pilots will soon become displeased with the relative safety and profitability they enjoy.
The cycle will repeat.
This is how the market works, guys. If you disrupt the supply of a commodity, it will become more valuable, and those still able to produce it will make more money selling it.
Hm...
Hazard has always been present in high sec mining (how long ago was the first hulkageddon?), there has been no large "pressure" on high sec miners, especially those who are organized and know what they are doing (ie multiple hulks on the field with orca support all tanked/RR'ed, local concord spawns in the belt to reduce ease of popping said hulk...)
The recent spike in mineral prices is more closely related to two major, key events. First is the reduction in the amount of minerals that can be mined with the a gun, i.e. low meta drops, drone drops, salvage drops. The second reason for the spike in prices is the banning of something on order of 500 RMT accounts, i.e. mining bots. The large supply of high sec minerals provided by these bots caused a pressure on human miners to move to more profitable measures, (lvl 4 mission running) instead of mining veld. Without this large supply, naturally, the profitability of high sec mining operations is going to approach, if not exceed, other risk comparable isk producing activities.
You may be on the right track, but it is not any recent small (burn jita) activities that have caused prices to spike. Anyone who believes that burn jita, hulkageddon, or any other localized event produced any more stress on the local industry infrastructure that a major nullsec campaign need to get their head checked.
As for the OP... you failed high school math and are a failed ratter. Drake = failsauce ratter. It is easy to get 20+mil ticks with less investment than high sec ratting and with typical pvp skills. |
