As I work through carebear L4s with my Rokh, I have started setting my sights on something greater; the Nightmare. I am at work and do not have access to Evemon, so I am wondering :
What Skills would you consider necessary to effectively use the nightmare? I will name some obvious ones :
Amarr/Caldar BS : 4 Large Energy Turret/Pulse Laser Specialization : 5 Gunnery : 5 Shield Operation/Management/Upgrades/Compensation : 4 Engineering/Electronics : 5 Weapon Upgrades : 4-5 Targeting : 3 Energy Systems Operation/Energy management : 4 Motion Prediction/Rapid Fire/Controlled Bursts : 4 Surgical Strike/Trajectory Analysis : 4 Drones/Interfacing/Scout Drone Op : 5
Do you guys see any gaping holes? I have never used lasers so I am unsure of where to go with this.. I will update this list as you guys post.

So I would push skills into Beam Laser Specialization then? |

I don't really see drone interfacing V as a necessary skill for a 75m3 bandwidth ship but I suppose it would boost DPS a little bit.
And yes tachs are a class of large beam lasers.

Don't take the specilaization to 5. You'd be better off training one of the BS to 5, cap skills to 5, etc. Also keep in mind many Nightmare pilots use faction Tachyons, so your specialization skill doesn't help them at all.

It's a pre-req for Large Energy Turret, so um.. yeah.

Compensations are all but worthless for shield tanking, so don't even bother. The other shield skills are solid though.

Don't take interfacing to 5 until you've taken BS 5, cap skills 5, etc. It's nice to have, but not required. You should have t2 scouts though, simply because they're so easy to train compared to the rest of the BS skills.

Thanks for the detailed help guys :) I will starting working on those skills, most are 3-4 now, so only a few more monthes :)
