Second Life is more like cyber sex paradise.
I'd rather take the easy road to getting sexual pleasure and watch ****, or get some girl really drunk and then feel guilty about it later when I'm sober.
The hard road of actually working on a girl until she's ready for sexytime has much more satisfaction though. |

The critical flaw of WoW - it's PVP is essencially Yu-Gi-Oh! Online - EVE is M:TG.
I don't classify a "PVP" system that is risk-free and requires endless running of raids for the top-tiered loot/RWT as actually being PVP - I classify it as pressing buttons on your computer and because of some mathematical difference between you and him you're always bound to win. EVE, on the otherhand, is real PVP as it has scale, risk and the social factor. ________________________________________________

I'm afraid you have no idea what you're talking about. The internal scripting system has been butchered so far down that you can't do much more than display information in a very static manner. At least it was in that state the last time I played the game, which has been a while, but I doubt Blizzard will lift any of the imposed restrictions.

WOW pvp is all about what class you play and what class you group with. Much less skill than some of you guys give it.
I used to play my Rogue with a Druid friend and even though we had better gear and we knew how to play our classes really well, we had no chance versus the obviously skillfull Paladins/Death Knights/Resto Druids.
It's always skill that killed my rogue after I would get the opener, do all the necessary attacks in perfect sequence for maximum effect, just to have the other person turn on complete invulnerability bubble and spam 2-3 buttons to kill me.
Sorry, WoW takes no skill.

Typical wow macro
line 1 - Activate DPS trinket #1 line 2 - Activate DPS trinket #2 line 3 - Activate Spell that makes the next spell with casting time of 10s or less instant cast line 4 - Activate 10s high damage spell
hit that button once the timers are up and you have one dead person. Lots of skill....

Hah, that's a basic one. My warlock had a macro that would trigger my damage buffs, and apply 5 damage-over-time spells just by mashing one button. Also had my Felhunter set up to automatically remove negative debuffs, and my Succubus to automatically seduce. Now that's easy mode... |

Of course, that wouldn't really get you anywhere if you're competing with the best. This is my point. At the casual level, the PvP "skill cap" is about the same in WOW as EVE. It's on the top of the ladders that the PvP mechanics of WOW really shines, and I can't say the same about EVE. |

well, your knowledge is limited. :p enter the arena; http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/arena/index.xml
In a nutshell, that's why PvP gameplay is more sophisticated in WOW than in EVE. EVE Arena |

I'll clear this up, it's weird / stupid that people are safe from SOMETHING. I can't attack my own faction unless in arena or a pre-designated area that is very small and always empty.

I've never played wow, but I'm curious. In what way do you mean that wouldn't work against the best? Do you mean that in elite wow pvp you would be beaten by a team of players with all the best stuff, best mix of characters and best tactics, or do you mean that assuming everyone is 'maxed out' on stuff, characters etc, and it's a like for like match, the elite pvper would be able to beat this sort of macro?

I'm not sure I understand. I'm trying to convey that spamming macros will not cut it when you're playing with the best in World of Warcraft, but let's not derail the topic more than necessary.

WoW doesn't have pvp, people just think it does.
Without a tangible loss its irrelevant. In Eve every loss costs you, it would be interesting to see what would happen if you lost equipment or xp's and levels in WoW though.
