I'd say it's a good race. They even have some ships that works wonders as shield tankers if you're gonna be in such a gang (ishtar, myrm, domi and, Yes you heard me, brutix!)
Add Arazu, Lachesis, Celestis, Hyperion and even Deimos (though barely) to that list. Gallente becomes much more fun when you start using shield buffered gank fits. :P |

so true. in our corp & alliance we tend to fly loads of shield tanked ships these days, both for solo and gang pvp.
I've done it a lot for quite some time now. I guess it's just a development of the nanofits of old, now just with more focus on gank and buffer.
The ability to fit 1-2 nanofibers really helps after all the speed and agility nerF-AGe, and/or 3 magstabs were never easier to cram in to anything you fancy. Only problem for solo and really small gangs is that not all Gall boats can do it good enough and fit (full)tackle as well. Tho things like Ishtar, Domi and the Recons have the mids for even that.

Oh, the Deimos could use a boost though. A 4th midslot would be lovely! --- WOLFY is recruiting!

Originally by: Furb Killer While i disagree with merin that t1 cruisers are completely irrelevant, they are fun and cheap, there are only a few situations a t1 cruiser can kill a battlecruiser. Which mainly means stabber against brutix, arbitrator and some other nano stuff against brutix. Which does not really include the vexor since you can just kill its drones, and then it is going to take really long before it kills a brutix
I can fly a rupture and a hurricane, why would I EVER fly the rupture over the hurricane?
To get more fights, that's why some high-SP folks insist on T1 Cruisers and frigs I hear...
I wouldn't know, I rarely do it myself. |

If you can use the enyo you can use the ishkur (which is a lot better and easily one of the best Assault frigates).
Enyo is cheaper
Enyo has its uses, tho I did fly mostly Ishkurs myself when I hopped on the "AF bandwagon" after QR. Haven't really bothered to fly AFs lately, more just HACs and Ceptors, they're just more to my taste... --- WOLFY is recruiting!

I hardly ever see either of those ships shield tanked and used as heavy tacklers tbh.
Look harder. Shield Zu is awesome fun. |
