Look, if you want deep plots, flawed realistic characters that make you cry when they suffer through touching emotional experiences, Michael Bay is not your man. If you just want the guy that will blow millions of dollars on explosions, vote MB. Me personally, I could give two ****s about the story behind transformers, I just want to see awesome giant robot battles.
And this is why Transformers sucks. He could have made some random robots bashing each other's metal sheets in but no, he had to use a franchise with long tradition and extensive story and turn it into a cataclysmic cascade failure of special effects.

Good film if you go into the cinema with the right attitude.

Say, this sounds like a great idea for the next movie. |

Micheal Bay makes a movie based on a Saturday morning cartoon series; did anyone honestly expect it to have a good story/dialogue/writing involved?

He managed to make a worse dialogue than in the original cartoon. That is how bad it is. |

This pretty much, except she isn't as hot as the last film. Special effects and constant explosions made me enjoy the film overall though, just don't think. |

The least he could do is at least try.
But apparently the special effects are apparently more important that storyline and character development to most people.
This why transformers 1 sucked and the second will probably suck and why I am not going to pay anything for it. If I went to see the movie it would probably be because someone paid me for it.

How can you make compelling dialog out of a cartoon series where the prominent reocurring lines throughout the entire series were: 'Autobots! Roll out!' and 'omg we are under decepticon attack optimus what will we do!' and not to forget the ever lovely 'I'll get you next time optimus prime! Next time! (megatron flys off)'.

Well I liked it, except for one slight thing:
Washington, DC, is not in the middle of Tucson, AZ! There are no big open fields covered with unused aircraft, or mountain ranges in the DC area! Especially not right outside the Smithsonian. You know what's outside the Smithsonian? A crapton of other buildings, and the National Mall.
I can forgive the Pyramids bit, a little, because most people can't find Africa on a map, so they won't know the geography between Giza and Petra. Plus, it had that whole Springfield sense to it.

OK, another point. What was with all the bodily fluids? That just wasn't needed. I could get behind it a little. But did there need to be so many frothing mouths? Are all Transformers rabid or something?
I laughed when Bumblebee peed int he first film. But all the slobbering in the second was just ridiculous.

Like some other guy said here, if you go into films with the right mindset you can enjoy them for what they are.
I don't go into a horror film expecting lots of humor and a marriage. Same as i didnt expect Transformers 2 to be any different from Transformers 1.
But even though i enjoyed the robot deathmatches a lot of the human (especially the forced humour) scenes were painful to watch. Id have loved a version of MB's cgi work done as more of a straight action flick, with the humans/humour kept to a minimum and the silly robots felt more like watching power rangers at times, like the balls and the twins.
Favourite scenes had to be Optiumus' massive fight where he got owned eventually and Jetfire. (Especially to the his very British lines, felt like they were done well because he really seemed british not the crappy what americans think brits are like)
Overall im glad i saw it, i'll probably even buy the DVD eventually.

Originally by: FOl2TY8 I went expecting robots fighting and Megan Fox. Guess what I got? Also since when did the original transformers have deep, enthralling storylines?
I had the same expectations and was disappointed beyond belief. The movie is just boring for the most parts. I swear the transformers get pushed more to the back as this movie franchise progresses. It is called transformers, so why is most of the movie about non-relevant and uninteresting humans and their equally irrelevant doings. It's not like any of it is any good. Most of it is actually bad and breaks the flow of what is supposed to be an action movie. Cut that **** out, so what is left might be a tight action packed movie instead of a snoozefest with some decent action scenes.
Part of what makes the movie so boring is, that the humans have no problems killing of decepticons. The decepticons look menacing and transform in to huge killing machines, that only the autobots can stop. No wait, that is what it is supposed to be like. Good thing the modern american army is more efficient at killing decepticons than the autobots, that have fought with them for milennia and have a huge tech advantage. It removes all sense of danger and exitement from the movie. They even shot devastator with their high tech pussification ray. He just sucked sand, choked on it and got one shotted by a railgun. That really describes the decepticons at this point. Huge buildup that ends with them doing nothing and get killed of by random humans.
I know summer blockbusters are just dumb action flicks, but transformers 2 failed to provide even that. It really pains me to say this, but it is one of the worst high profile action movies I've seen in a long time.

If they removed those 2 jaja binks transformers, got rid of the stupid mother scene, guy from 1st film who had it in for the 'kids', wasn't so long, had less juvenile humour it would have been pretty damn good.
It was scabby, but an ok film.
The story about the transformer war in the middle sounded awesome, should have swapped plots imho.

I didn't even bother watching the 2nd one, But here's the situation with Michael Bay and the like. He use to do commercials ... with a lot of special effects and that is what he is good at.
A good director is a good writer, vice versa and anyone in the production industry will say the same thing. Megan Fox, there's a quote for something like that. "If you wanna **** her then **** her don't put her in your movie."
Anyways MB is the kind of director for dumbed down rednecks who watch FOX news and Dumb idiot kids who have no taste and are just apart of the "stupid" mass.

Hmmm... I went to the theater, I paid my $7, and I enjoyed this movie.
Yes some of it was childish, some was lame, and the story wasnt too deep... but what do you expect? It's fricken transformers!
Explosions, dumb one liners, and more explosions are what they do.
I paid my $7, and i enjoyed this movie.
