Well, my 360's been running fine since I first got it shortly after it was released (about 2-3 years ago). I've only had 1 RROD, but that went away with a quick restart.
As for XBL compared to... whatever the sony one is. XBL is probably superior simply because I have never actually heard much about the sony version.

Instant-on 1080p HD movies with 5.1 surround sound will allow users to stream movies from the Zune Marketplace (formerly the XboxLive Video Marketplace) or Netflix instantly with no delay.
So yes whilst i do pay for my service,i pay for a vastly supierior service.

Facebook can be accessed from near enough anything with a browser, who cares about streaming movies its a games console if i wish to stream movies i use the proper tool for the job a PC, so basically you're paying for movies from what i see and not a lot else, party systems exist for games that need them, and mentioning netflix twice just to bulk out the post sheesh >.>
Sky suck ass as anything worth watching on there comes out elsewhere, as i said XBL is a ripoff of epic proportions given most of what you mention is already the norm after buying an internet connection ;)

how about game content has the ps3 gotten the lost and the damned yet or for that matter any of the fallout 3 content?

The issue is, nearly all the multiplatform games coming out for the ps3 and xbox 360 use the same textures and output at the same res, so there's no major difference on that level.
On another note I did see comparison screenshots between the xbox version of the Ghostbusters and the PS3 version, xbox was much clearer, PS3 was washed out and more blurry because of all the "superior" tech doing its marvels
