What ships provide the most bang for your ISK?
I'm working on the premise (1) PvPing is > PvE; PvE is usually boring (2) When you PvP you will, eventually, die (3) The more expensive the ship you die in, the more PvE you have to do to recover this ISK. (4) A 'good' PvP ship avoids you having to much PvE because it is either (a) cheap/insurable (b) unlikely to die (c) so lethal that pvp loot easily pays for replacements or (d) a combination of the above
I nominate: Rifter with T2 guns (often the starting point of any aspiring pirate PvPer) Rupture with T2 guns + 1600 plate (I have mates who get amazing and unlikely kills with this) Hurricane with T2 a/c or arty (versatile BC can fill many roles) Thrasher with T2 arty (death to frigates; remarkably survivable if you run like a little girl - often :-) Sabre (super-useful bubble with bite, pace and some survivability)
But you might suggest that Vagabond that you have a 100-1 kill/death ratio with, or the Ranis you solo faction BS in...

Oddly enough, for me it's the nighthawk. Yah, it's spendy, but it's the one that I've got the best kill/death ratio with. It's also an efficient isk-maker.
And I think it's fun as hell. __________________________________________________________

The most 'effective' pvp shiptype really depends on wether you do a lot of solo work or small gang work or medium gang work etc etc.
A roaming RR dominix gang (5 - 10 domis) CAN be much fun if you can pull it off and get the gang together.
If you are looking at the 'bang for your isk' part though here are some of my nominees:
T1 Rifter Thrasher Stabber/Rupture (Id have to say stabber is more fun) Hurricane Typhoon
T2 Stiletto Wolf Sabre Rapier Vagabond
My alltime favs. being the Wolf, Hurricane and Rapier (in that order)

Cyclone/Ferox/Brutix Thrasher Dominix/Armageddon/Phoon Rifter/Tristan/Punisher/Incursus/Kestrel/Merlin
T1 Cruisers with mostly named/t1 fits can be surprisingly effective still aswell.

Looking at my top 10 ships by K/D Ratio: #1-#2 Broadsword 44:0 & Archon 40:0. I have no losses with these but only got a handful of kills, that kinda mucks up the K:D ratio though so i'll ignore them. On ships I've actually flown enough to both kill a lot of people and lose a few of, I'll rank them and list which option from #4 above applies:
#1 Redeemer (b & c) 48:1 K/D Ratio. This really should be ~150:1 K/D but I've done some ballsy ie stupid things with Black Ops. #2 Maelstrom (a) 42:1 K/D Ratio #3 Zealot (b) 37.5:1 K/D Ratio #4-5 Armageddon/Typhoon (a) ~24:1 K/D Ratio #6-7 Claymore/Huginn (b) 23:1 K/D Ratio

For me personally is most definetly the Dominix.
The one ive currently has lasted me awhile and has so gotten out / de-agressed about a half dozen times in low structure so far. Not had so much luck in eve before as with this one.

My top 5 ships by K/D ratio:
1) Phantasm - 107:1 <- And people say faction ships get primaried too much! 2) Pilgrim - 36.6:1 3) Curse - 25.2:1 4) Omen Navy Issue - 24.6:1 5) Ares - 22:1
Honestly though, best bang for my buck would probably be a curse or shield tanked harb.

AML Caracal. About 5 mill ISK to lose, but chews through 30 mill ISK T2 frigates with ease, without invoking the fear that an Arbitrator or Vexor would.

So you lost .6 of a Pilgrim .. that would be warping off under half armour right? Sabre for kdr (95:1). Despite incredibly terrible ISK/tank ratio, it offers a 'gang' tank - i.e. turn up in a Sabre and you instantly have several blues following you about to soak up enemy fire.

I've found that having access to lvl 4s missions (pve i know) makes pvp much more affordable. One good session of missioning and salvage can net you a lot of isk - allowing you to lose those ships without wincing (half the battle of fighting another person is getting over the fact your ship is pretty much lost as soon as you undock anyway)
I like a rail/MWD fit Ishkur for it's survivability and the Brutix for it's insurable in-your-face blastery goodness - two favourite ships.

Loving my gang Beam Zealots at the moment. They aren't exactly cheap, but the number of kills I'm getting with them makes them well worth it.

Would be the Zealot for me. Of course, it is wether cheap nor insurable nor especialy durable ( which means that losses can and ultimatly will happen ) but it is the most fun ship i can fly in eve which makes it an effective pvp ship for me :)

Is this the Domi in your Vids? The one with Med T2 blasters and Dual Rep? Awesome ship that. Gonna fit myself one (i have a passive one atm) when i can bring myself to shell out for the rigs.
To answer the OP's question -
I only solo so i would have to say the Rifter and the Rupture.

For me the most cost effective PvP ship I've flown is actually the Thrasher. Nobody expects the Dessie to do anything useful.
