but we already got used to the old semi-broken system why did we need a new semi-broken system?
The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy |

How is increasing the time it takes to do anything great and fantastic?
Does it look shiny and pretty? Yes, But it takes 100% more effort at a bare minimum (by counting clicks) to do ANYTHING with it, and thats assumign the most simple and basic of tasks. If you want a more complicated task, you now start invoking multiple key commands.... to be able to do what was able to be accomplished in just as many clicks before.
Change can be good, in fact it can be very good at times.
But Change Is Not The Same Thing As Improvement.
Newer isn't always better, the two things are often related, but in cases like this, clearly not the same thing.
What new capability was gained by this mess? It had better be great if it imposed a 100%+ workload on anything I have to do for everything else with it.
I would love to see how CCP did their use case testing on this. |

Nope I do genuinely believe it, sorry but you just need to accept that you're in the (very vocal) minority on this one. The new system is compact, simple (drag and drop), far more versatile with its filters and all around makes inventory management easier. As has been already pointed out.
The "issues" most people are waxing emotional about are due to not understanding they can simply drag to the tree to move items, or shift click to open seperate windows to monitor contents. They believe the tree only exists to open one window at a time in the main view, which is misunderstanding the main functionality of the tree.
The ability to open different hanger views from the tree is secondary, it's main function is to drag items to the tree so you don't have to drag items all the way across your screen... and unless you want to monitor those windows you don't need to even have them open.
To reiterate. The actual issues are...
1: Windows close and/or reposition upon a session change.
2: Seperate windows to not update their contents automatically like the main window does. The items actually can be dragged from window to window as you always could, but currently the view does not update automatcially as it does when dragging to the tree or main window.
3: It would be helpful to be able to custom filter what is shown in the tree easily.
Minor issues that have been acknowledged as needing a fix in the very near future. When I check troll in the dictionary, it has a photo shopped picture of you standing somewhere in the vicinity of a point.
Also, I can kill you with my brain. |

But how many people did have problems with inventory management that couldn't be solved with folders - erm containers?
For me my hangar has turned from a compartementalized room (=immersion) into a, well - the inventory is simply a tool now. Bland. |

These are in no way minor issues. They make using the inventory a pita.
I now need much more clicks (and therefore time) to do the same things as before. In a better looking window. Sorry but that is not something I like.
Additionally the only way to use the tree to it's potential is to make the window real large. And that is the next annoying thing: Moving, resizing, changing the view setting of this damn window.

Did I already said I can't even find the will to log and do stuff because this feature just wasted all my gaming experience?
How can you people ever admit it's a better gaming experience that have those window opening/closing/resizing whatever crap when all you need is to:
-identify your items location and eventually number at that location -previous had perfect information on this
-identify your item in specific location by sort/meta and number and eventually m3-previous had almost perfect information on this
-be able to easily and very quickly open/view/close set destination, contract, trash, sell whatever fecking option was available welp, this was also available in previous version
So what doesn new one brings? -more clicks, complexity in station, complexity in space, overall tedious at the point you actually don't want to have more assets and have to open the dam thing.
