And a happy money making SOE leaves awesome developers like CCP alone to make great games. (Don't want another SWG disaster!)
On a more serious note, its a good business decision for both CCP and SONY. It sounds counter-intuitive but think about it. No you just result with less people playing. Anyone who doesn't have a PS3 after all this time isn't going to get one now.
Hence why its counter-intuitive.
Let's put it anothert way, if CCP releases on another platform within x months they get sued.
You can yell and whine till your blue in the face, but it won't change the current situation. |

You seem to be missing a key concept.
I'm saying releasing it for BOTH PC and PS3. Not just PC.
A good analogy is Castlevania Lords Of Shadow. I played all its versions on PS. However I moved onto PC gaming when Warcraft III came out, WoW, and SC II. Now I keep PC gaming for EvE and SCII and some random PC games I enjoy, like Sim City or Civilization IV/V.
Had Castlevania been released as both PC and console, I would have payed double price for the PC version just to avoid the PS3 cost. So I'll never get to experience the beautiful game that is Castlevania Lords of Shadow (I've watched practically every youtube video of the game and soundtracks) simply because it's not on PC.
I'd argue that every game (with Steam now available) should have a PC version. That's right, EVERY SINGLE GAME. You'd make a killing and there's plenty of people that would even translate the game to PC for a minor one-time fee and perhaps even free.
To this day I'd buy Castlevania for PC for 100 bucks if it was released. I'm content with The Witcher and The Witcher 2 in the meantime :)
Development time to create a PC version of every game would pay for itself 50 times over every time (assuming the game is popular to begin with). Winmatar > Everything else |

Yeah thanks but let me just quote:
Shatner wrote:On a PC, a mouse is LINEAR. If you move the mouse 2 inches to the right your character turns a certain amount. If you move the mouse 2 inches to the right quickly, the character turns the EXACT SAME AMOUNT, he just does it MORE QUICKLY. This is not the case when using a mouse on Black Ops, Medal of Honor, etc. The Eagle Eye basically translates the "mouse is moving to the right" action into "right analog stick is being pushed to the right." This, in theory, works well. However, on the PS3, the speed of your character's turn depends not on the speed that the mouse moves, nor the distance, but on a fixed in game sensitivity. For example, if you set your sensitivity to 2 in Black Ops, your character can only turn at a certain max speed. If you try to swipe your mouse to the right quickly, the PS3 only understands that the right analog stick is being pushed breifly, and your character will barely move. If you move the mouse relatively slowly, the character will turn farther, because the PS3 thinks the right analog stick has been pushed right for a longer period of time.
GorillaSnot wrote:Take your time and do the advanced Calibration several times to tweak it perfect. It takes several games to get the feel just right.. but after you get it calibrated it is pretty close to a PC experience. The major difference is the linear action of a PC mouse and the analog action of the Eagle Eye mouse, you just can not trun around as fast as you can with a PC mouse. It is impossible to replicate it exactly but you can get close.
The fact is that the principles are still different and a PC gamer is going to have an edge(decisive in certain situations given same skills of players).
Also it's interesting to know how FPS(frames-per-second)dependant Dust engine is. If it's like Q3 engine than 500fps ftw!
But let's not turn this into a PCvsConsole shall we? |

Then code the game to accept that type of input? Profit. |

Listing a game with NATIVE mouse and keyboard support on PS3 (as in just plug your usb KB/M into the ps3)...
UT3.
Played LOTS of it with controller as well as KB & Mouse, KB/M allowed me to pwn people using controllers in unrestricted servers. |
