Hi there, I just bought myself an Armageddon and need a bit help with the setup. I've got around 6 mil skillpoints and I'm thinking of using this setup:
High: 7 megabeams Maybe 1 large SB for friggies
Med: 3 cap rechargers
Low: 2 L armoru reps, 2 hardeners 1 t2 heat seak 3 cap relays
Any help will make me happy ---

Don't think that's possible on an armr, might want to go with 1 large armor rep 3 hardeners (em thermal thermal for sansha/bloods), skip the smartbomb.
And make sure you have a full dronebay

I'm fairly sure you run out of power with that setup.
I'm not a big npc'er but some things to consider: megapulse instead of megabeams for more damage, running a tech 2 repairer along the large repairer for less power requirements. Also used tech 2 or eutectic rechargers if you can get them.

This is what I used (against Sansha's) until I got my Apoc:
7x Mega Pulse 1x Large Smartbomb
3x Eutectic Cap Recharger
1x Large Rep 1x Medium Rep 2x Thermal Hardener 1x PDU 2x CPR 1x Heatsink 2
Now that I have my Apoc, which does much less damage, I'm thinking I could have tossed the Heatsink and put on another CPR or an EM hardener.

Edited by: Alexia Sonique on 29/09/2004 21:42:49 7 megapulse 1 med smartbomb
3 cap rechargers (or 2 rechargers + 1 tracking comp)
large armor repair, named if possible med armor repair tech 2 2 hardners (em and thermal for sanshas, in my case) 4 cap power relays
This setup has tanked and killed spawns of two sansha overlords (1 mil bounty) + escorts and one true sansha beast lord (3 mil bounty) with a escort of two beast lords (500k bounty) + frigs and cruisers. Character has 7.5 mil skill points.
Make sure you can use at least 8 drones to kill the npc frigates, your guns wont be able to hit them under 20km and they like to orbit you at 4-6km
The setup you (Starbrow) suggest, I doubt you'd be able to fit it that way. With engineering and electronics at 5, I'm not even able to squeeze a 2nd large armor repair nor a large smartbomb on.

My NPC hunting geddon has the following setup. I normally just run the Medium armor repairer, and burst the large.
Highs: 6 Mega Pulse 1 Named Dual Heavy Pulse. Has similar range and damage to the mega pulse when you factor in ROF. 1 Large Smart Bomb
Meds: 2 Cap rechargers, 1 Eut, 2 F-bs
Lows: 1 Large Accomodation (best T1 Named) 1 Medium T2 Armor Repairer 3 Cap Relays 3 Hardeners, 2 Therm 1 EM. 80% in those two categories.

I have tried mega pulse a couple of times and they may work nice if you have named ones. But i like my current config,
7 dual heavey beams (4 modulated, 2 anode, 1 modal), 1 large named thermal sb.
1 t2 tarcking cpu, 2 eutectic (would have t2 if i could find em at a nice price)
2 large accomadation armor repairers, 2 thermal hardeners, (55% and 50%) 4 cpr's.
i can fire all guns and and run hardeners and tracking comp and 1 repairer continiously, when faced by 3 bs can tank them all when neccessary and the cap hold up nicely. Biggest spawn was a 3.5 mill with a couple more mill mates with other friends.

imho u need 2x L armour reps. When you drop into a battleship spawn and u need some time to take out the frigs 2x named L armour reps have a losing battle, I wouldn't like to get stuck with a large and a medium. This is what I use:
5x megapulse, 2x Dual heavy pulse, 1x L smartbomb 3x cap rechargers 2x L armour rep, 3x hardner, 1x damage mod, 2x cap recharger.
u need good skills and some named modules so u don't run out of cpu, but it does fit.

Smartbomb for npcs is waste of PG and CPU. Most npcs orbit around you at 7.5km and you will only kill your drones with it. Nosferatu would be probably better idea for 8th slot.
MWD doesn't help you. NPC interceptors will always outrun you. It will help you get to 0.0, but you should rather make bookmarks.
so your setup should be something like this... 7x mega pulse 3x cap recharger 2x large armor repairer 2x hardener (specific to dmg type of npcs) 1x heat sink II 3x cap relay
You should be able to fit that with proper skills.
Drones! don't forget drones.. they are your defense against interceptors.

Allmost the setup i use, except i use one tech 2 med armor repairer. I also dropped the heatsink for a cap relay, and i have a tungsten 1600mm plate there, just for the extra margin, wich you need sometimes. Works very well, i warp in at 15km allways, and if i warp 5-15km away from 1-1.5 mil rats they go down in less than 60 sec.
Arma is a beast :) I have an apoc built out of the loot collected over a week with my arma, as long as mega pulse lasers are as they are, same as armor tanking, arma will remain on top of the food chain. ----------------------

Sorry guys im gonna have to say sommat. Unless im missing something blatantly obvious, u cant fit 7 mega pulse and 2 large repers without a PDU or RCU
with engineering 5 my geddon has 20500 PG (give or take)
7xmega pulse = 2500x7 = 17500 grid 2xlarge repers = 2000x2 = 4000 grid
thats a total of 21500 grid so how exactly do u fit 7 mega pulse and 2 large repers without PDU/RCU?

True, thats why u use a 320 hp repairing med t2 repairer, wich can keep up with damage dealt by 1-2 bs , few cruisers and few interceptors. I only burst engange the large repairer to catch up with damage if there are more than 2 bs present. ----------------------
