It has been approximately 365 days, 10 hours and 20 minutes since Dark Shikari last graced us with his presence on these forums. I would just like to point out that even though he has not posted on the forums for over a year, he is STILL the #1 poster on EVE Online with 28773 posts. The #2 poster is Akita T with about 19610 posts (as of this typing).
We miss you, Dark Shikari.

I think he got fed up with the state of the forums as it has went from disussion about eve with some flames for flavor to pretty much all flames.

He's probably right, the forums have gone to hell in recent years. There's been a distinct influx of people who think fakeposting and trolling are hilarious. While it's easy to blame that on the goons, it seems to be an internet-wide phenomenon. General discussion reads like a list of tabloid headlines, with thread titles designed to grab maximum attention and the threads themselves generally devoid of useful, readable content. Some of the other sections are still mostly alright though like the missions, ships and market discussion forums.

Actually, he most likely stopped posting because he's at Harvey Mudd, one of the most demanding science schools in the country. Plus he's got a bunch of side projects going.
So, along with the forum idea, he probably just decided it wasn't worth the time when he could be doing other stuff, like science, or making money, or going to the all-girls' school south of HM.

Still, <3 forums.
Forums where better when there where fewer people on it... and Goons sure as hell didn't help. But CAOD when't to hell first, so can't really blame them for all of it, as much as I would want too.

That, even if most of his posts are spam somehow and not gotten deleted, is a feat worth some notice.
Besides, at the best of times, DS was a good thread starter and poster.

Hippoking was banned, then was unbanned when the rules changed. I think he quickly got banned again, though he may have just stopped posting here. He was highly active on Scrapheap, and may still be, but I'm not a regular there.
JC took a break, came back briefly, and hasn't been heard from since, AFAIK.

He was ...difficult.. to talk to both on these forums and ingame, any discussion wherein you didn't hold the identical views meant that you were automatically wrong and also probably paid by microsoft to BE wrong. (I don't know what it was but that guy had the BIGGEST anti-microsoft thing going I've ever seen)
He wasn't interested in hearing the arguments for your opinions, if they differed to his you were WRONG and not worth talking to. Simple as that.
Chribba is a great guy and deserves his eve-fame, DS was an egotistical attention-*****.
However, despite all those times that him and I didn't see eye-to-eye I still wish him the best of luck in all that he does.

There is many of those "old farts" that one does not see posting in EVE-O nowdays. Like Hippoking, Dark Shikari .. Tiller perhaps. I think many of them got banned from EVE-O forums over the time and just went to Scrapheap and did not bother coming back to EVE-O after CCP declared amnesty. I remember there were some quite long threads after that for a little while in general section when all the old faces were saying "greetings", but they drifted away again soon afterwards.
