as was said before, back when the be all end all of mining was an apoc with 10 drones, dont get me wrong i love alot of the new stuff, it just seems looking back at it, the game is just slow but surely turning into a 1 track mind type of thing, there is only 1 way to fit a ship for pvp kind of thing.
i kinda wish they would do like DAOC did, create a server (a lot smaller of course, maybe 10k cap?) labeled "Clasic" where it would be eve online: Castor) you know something for the vets to goto to remember the days of old, and for new guys to goto to "see what its like"

warping in a Basilik to wrong Bookmark and find yourself surrounded by enemy cap blob...
will never forgott that moment.. was like... "WTF!! and than..oO.. dead"
or getting in a cov ops insta popped by a dread cause started approching until decloak during making screenshots and watching dreads fireing...
both some time ago but will never forgott that moments :-P was soo funny ship losses

When i was 2 month old, as a newbie explorer i was scanning srs bsns anomalies in my srs bsns arbitrator, warped to a belt and saw some dread guristas frigate which i killed.
The loot was some fancy looking tower blueprint but when i checked the prices - ZOMG  - sold it for 250 mils later  .

Was heading into a low sec system in my Myrmidon to do a mish,
Got jumped by two gate campers, Was my first PVP experience so I paniced a little.....
Decided if I was going to die, I would die fighting, picked one and toggled all avaliable weapons and modules, unleashed my drones and called my mum to tell her I loved her!
To my supprise I did enough damage to force them to flee.... got an eve-mail soon after saying "Nice to see a carebear put up a fight, if you ever want to go pirate give us a call"

jumping into an Ushra'khan gate camp and putting the boots to it with my CNR.
close second is the party of 3 gankers who attacked me in a mission. even got the kill shot on one of them.

watching m0o vs Corp1 back in the day 200k off a gate in full combat mode. this was in a high sec system back when concord could be pwned :)

I was gonna mention something else but this TBH, got some great bargains on escrow, multi region, non of this PITA travelling to accept a contract...awesomeness

The one right before what we have now. You got to choose your starting stats, a couple weeks worth of specialized starting skills, and there was no guessing; no square pegs in round holes. I see no benefits to the new creation system.
I didn't initially intend to rant on poor development choices, sorry. Carry on.
