I'm a noobie.
That being said, I have done some research on the additions added to the game in EVE's Expansions. Apparently, a LOT of changes have been made (which is good, considering this game is 6 years old), and I am curious what are all of you guys top 5 favorite additions to the game?
1. Skill Que System - Not having specific times in the back of my mind that I need to log in to maximize my skill training time is great for me, as I am a bit of a min-maxer.
2. Improved Tutorials - As I said I'm a noobie. When I first tried this game about a year ago, the bad tutorials, steep learning curve, and "pressure" (I guess that's what you would call it) of always having a skill training turned me off. The new tutorials are great, explain most of the games basic functions, and put you into a respectable mission ship, and industrial ship, by the end of it. It was enough to get me over that initial confusion, and "hook" me.
3. Exploration Changes - AFAIK, the old exploration system sounded pretty bad. I started playing apparently only 2 weeks or so after the change, and I am glad I did as I really enjoy the way it currently is.
4. Tech III/Wormholes - While at the moment, Tech III is just beginning, it is a genuinely cool idea. Plugging different subsystems together to build ships is pretty awesome, and I like that you can be involved in its manufacturing process both solo or in a group. Also since WH space is so random in nature, its nice that the casual player can still be part of it, while no matter who you are there is always a sense of risk. For me, I'm part of a 0.0 alliance, and through Intel channels and watching local, I generally feel either 100% safe, or aware of the risk. I never feel caught off guard. In WH's that risk is always present, both to soloers and people trying to live there.
5. Graphics Improvements - After seeing screenshots of the past and then playing with the current graphics, WOW what a difference. A great improvement, and keeps the game fresh instead of slowly becoming less desirable like other good, but not updated, MMOs like Dark Age of Camelot. A great game, but it just feels old.
List your favorites! As you can see I am very impressed with Apocrypha, but I am sure some of you older players have much different views on this.

I'm new too although I played for several months a few years back. For me the new exploration and WH's is the best. WH's are such a smart idea its scary. It allows small groups to benefit from nul space while keeping an element of nul risk in the game. And for solo play they are great fun.

1) Skill QUEUE 2) The addition of Battlecruisers to fill the gap between cruisers and battleships 3) Medals, I love shiny! 4) Lag fixes 5) Attribute respeccing. I wasn't against fixed attributes per se (Even though my char was the one with 3 base perception), but I hated it that everyone and their dog played as Achura just because they had the 'best' attributes. ---

#2 Skill Queue, as its damned handy.
#3 Wormholes, as I live in one, and its so much fun!
#4 Warp to 0
Cant think of any other changes I care much about... there are others I'd like put on the list, but CCP hasn't done them yet: overhaul POSes, fix bounty hunting, removal of meta-0 loot drops, removal of insurance from CONCORDOKKEN, etc.

Skill queue rocks!
I find import and export of settings/fittings etc rather nifty.
Can you think of any other game that offers this feature?
I'd love to see some spreadsheet functionality creep in on the wallets. Be able to perform some basic functions on it.

Hilarious imagining any developer reading this thread, they do all these complicated balance formulas, model/draw up/code tons of new graphics and models, ambulation in production, walk around as a character in 3d envronment etc...

Edited by: Xianthar on 29/07/2009 18:52:12 lthings that actually had a major positive impact on 0.0 life
1) warp to 0 - thousands of bookmarks no longer needed 2) dictors/hictors - bubbles changed a lot 3) carriers/JF - ZOMG no more weekly freighter ops to/from empire!!!! 4) invention - paying 230mil for a HAC sucked 5) skill que - no more alarm clock setting for skills 6) outposts - more stuff to fight over 7) dreads - pos bashing with BS sucks 8) titans - juiciest target in eve 9) range nerf - combined with a few other events this changed the face of fleet fighting 10) server performance - 200 man fleet fights used to be really soupy
most other things are meh, they had no major impact on how the game is played but rather are just diversions or way to make money while fighting for space, FW/wormholes/graphics/etc.

1. Skill Queue. 2. New Probing System - Although I believe that it is now too easy. 3. Invention - Much better than the BPO lottery system. 4. Module Timers - Now I can see (more easily) what is on or off. 5. Nano Nerf - Because it really was out of hand.

Not that surprising. The queue (why is that word so hard for so many?) is a usability improvement, and end users love those.
Or, as a programming team manager once told me: "People prefer simple things that make life easier over complex things that kick them in the balls." ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

1. SKILL QUEUE (it still took way too long) 2. Wormholes / Tech 3 (finally a ship worth spending all your iskies on!) 3. Tier 2 Battlecruisers + BC Buff (in RMR, BCs couldn't even kill HACs) 4. Graphics (although I miss the nice little trails we all used to have and the way your engines would flare really brightly when you lit your MWD ) 5. Web Nerf
