I bought a Moros and I want learn some details before I start using it.
I would appreciate your help with some newbie questions as well as some tips for using a Dread.
I just want use it for station games in low sec, by now, nothing more.
What is procedure to jump a Dread to another system (All the stuff about cyno field)?
Is there any penalty if I start the siege module?

I smell a troll but w/e:
This is one of those if you don't know, you're not ready to fly one moments. You should know just about everything there is to know about dreads MONTHS before you get into one. You should know how you're going to fit it, what each module does, its strengths and weaknesses, and when you should be using it. These are questions best asked by someone who's dreaming of the moros they'll own in 6 months, not the guy who just went out and bought one.
Though like I said, I call troll on this thread, either that or ebayed character, because I refuse to believe that someone can actually remain that clueless long enough to legitimately train for and raise the isk for a dreadnought, it's just not doable. |

Activate a cyno field in destination system (best is at safespots as its not as suspicious as a station), broadcast it in your gang and select "jump to". You need enough fuel tho, and the cyno alt needs to be in your gang.

Not really, siege modules are awesome, you cannot move anymore but they make your dread tank and gank like a mofo, so basically if you baited a few battleships to the station you are playing docking games, just hit siege and lol at them while you instapop them.

Rofl I call troll or someone who got lucky on a freighter kill and doesn't know what to do with the ISK :) However I know I wanted answers to these questions myself once so I'll answer them for anyone who reads this. Also people saying "if you do not know you're not ready" are a bit silly, how can you ever find out when people reply to you like that?
Anyway: Activate siege and you will: - Do insane damage (up to 7500 dps depending on skills) - tank like a demon from hell - not be able to hit anything that is smaller then a BS and if it's moving you wont be killing it probably unless it's a capital ship - be unable to move for 10 minutes (that is how long a siege cycle lasts)
So yea as soon as people know you have one they will wait until you siege, jump in and kill you probably.
Also for a cyno (can not use it when in siege) you need to be able to jump to a cynosural field generator. Said generator needs to be in range (see www.eve-icsc.com/jumptools/jumpplanner.php for details on jump range and fuel use) you need to have enough fuel in your cargohold (racial isotopes - look in the ship info which one you need). Jumping will use alot of your capacitor so make sure you have a cloak fitted (while travelling) to warp off and cloak in a safe spot or w/e as you wont be able to jump again immediately.
A cynosural field can be generated by: - a POS module which is active as long as it is online and you can always jump to it in that state. - a cynosural field generator fitted on a ship - this works the same as a siege module with regards to not being able to move for 10 minutes (no damage bonus etc ;)) during this time you can not jump / warp / eject etc. also the cynosural field shows up on the overview for everyone in the system and they can all warp to it immediately (so be careful with anyone you do not know in system). In short cyno alts / friends do not live for very long usually. Last thing is the ship fitted generator uses fuel (Liquid ozone) per activation of the generator, this needs to be in the cargohold of the ship.

I'm no expert on caps, but I hear people talk about sieging in lowsec the way people IRL talk about jumping in front of moving trains.
Funnily enough, the only time I've seen it done in lowsec was for the exact same reason that people IRL jump in front of moving trains. Except they don't get insurance.

The Moros has an advantage here, it gets a drone bonus, so probably could hurt a BS more than for eg. a Revelation. 5 Bouncer II's or Ogre II's, feel the <3...if you can lock him before next downtime

I fully endorse the poster who advised cynoing to a "safespot" and sieging on a station in order to kill battleships. This is how dreads were meant to be used!

A dread is a big investment, so it makes a lot of sense to faction (perhaps even officer) fit it as much as you can, with such a strong tank you would be foolish not to treat it as a project and get all the best stuff you can for it.
Best usage is probably to jump it into lowsec (using a cyno as described) and then to camp a gate with it. If you put your alt into a tech 3 cruiser with plenty of sensor boosters, you'll be able to tackle and survive the gate guns while the dread enters siege and kills entire gangs.
I recommend that you camp the sendaya / doril gate near curse as it has lots of traffic and is a great place to get juicy kills. Alternativly, you could cyno it into Providence and go ratting with it, imagine how fast you would clear belts out!
If you want a cyno, hit me up in game, ill be happy to help you out. |

First of all, wow, I'm sure people have already dug into you.
Secondly, you need to go to your escape menu ingame and set Jump Navigation Window to a bind. Its a CRAZY helpful menu for jumping.

Nobody mentioned that your cyno buddy needs to be fleeted with you . Also , IMO , If you solo a dread and put it in seige mode , your effectivly telling the enemy, "You have 10 minutes to add to your fleet" Never seige it solo , if you cant tank them regular its a clue to dock up . If you get away from a station almost any fast ship can hold you down and out run your tracking . Ive seen a dread go thru 2 seige modes back to back while being held down by 20 or so remote repped BS . In all that time he couldnt finish off one BS

Hi All,
I really appreciate all answers and mainly the ones that really move my knowledge forward.
BTW I am not trolling.
I have played for about 1.5 years and accumulated about 2 billions.
I have bought the bellow fit for about 1.35 Billions. Yep, with both T2 rigs and most capital modules, and off course, I will use commander modules instead of T2 when I get my skill ready for flying my Moros.
I still have 100 days of training to be able to fly a Moros with all L4 and L5 skills. So I am starting asking now, I am not dumb, just green.
