So people always come to me and ask "Sheriff, you funny and quite sexy statue of a man, how do you pay for EVE?"
And after noting that i am NOT Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw from Zero Punctuation and that is a blatant theft of the "come up to me and ask", i tell them the following;
"I pay by an ingenious plan of "take here, put there"." (Disclaimer; also works for sex situations)
"So how does it work in reality?" they ask, while waving various phallic symbols at me.
I do this by counting out what things cost and how much would i have to leave out to pay for EVE.
For a big example; One bar night can cost from 20 euros(cheap) up to a 100(taxi included). Now if you skip one bar night, you will at minimum save a months worth of EVE time. Two is the standard.
Now that seems obvious, so here's a few mroe examples;
Eat less bread
If you eat three pieces of toast in the morning, with the average pack holding 30 and costing 1.5 euro, you are effectively eating 15 cents worth of toast every day. Save up here and only eat two pieces of toast. That will save you 5 cents a day, or a whopping 1.50 euro a month.
Now you only need to gather 13.50 more!
Let's see.
Have a glass of water after every two glasses of coke.
Average glass holds 2.5dl liquid. Extra sized bottles hold 2 litres. This is 8 glasses of soda.
Now if you drink, at average, 4 glasses of soda each day(every day) you play, you go through 15 bottles a month. One bottle costs, say, 2 euro. That's 30 euro/month.
Now, if you drink a glass of water(which is healthy too), you'll be drinking the same bottle for three days(approx). That means you're only drinking 10 bottles/month, cutting your costs to 20 euro/month, saving 10 euro for EVE!
That means, you only need 3.50 to play EVE!
Now, i'm going to go on a limb here and cut corners on smokers.
Smoke one cigarette less!
Seems easy enough, just don't smoke that one ciggie.
Average pack of smokes, 3 euro.
Average pack holds, 20 cigs.
Cost of one cig, 15 cents.
Save over a month, 30 cigs.
Save of cash, 4.50!
that means you get to play EVE AND save a euro!
These are just rough examples, you can adapt it to anything you might do with your own life. With one less toast/day, one glass of water after 3 glasses of coke and only one cig less a day, you've effectively paid for a month of EVE.

I used the "Save money to pay for Eve plan" by Prof. Sheriff Jones and i am delighted ! Now i can play on 2 accounts AND have money left over to go out and pull women, my todger has never seen so much action. It's great ! Thumbs up !

To our colonial cousins I would recommend selling your blood plasma. Not only do you get more than enough cash to pay for an Eve subscription, you will have more than enough left over to pay for coke and cigarettes that the shreriff would so foolishly have you miss out on. And even better, with less blood the hit you get will be even larger.

Excellent post! Really good indeed! I myself don't drink coke, and reducing the amount of my daily beer intake is out of the question. I do, however, have another way of saving about the same amount as the glass of beverage. I simply re-fold the toilet paper and can thus use it twice! I thereby reduce the amount of spent toilet paper by approximately half and end up with just about the same amount of savings.
This method can also be applied to condoms. Just turn it inside out and it is ready to be re-used .

Say for example, you have 5 alts you also wish to pay for. This is a horrific 75Ç / month and 90Ç / month including your main.
Because you're awesome, all you use your alts are for PVP and spying purposes only. Not one can make over the price of a PLEX a month, and so paying for itself.
How do I save money you ask?
Well quite simply, you cut down on all the necessities.
20Ç a month on soda? Water is practically free, try it. Those old coke bottles you have lying about will come in handy, just fill them up with the clear liquid that gives life and enjoy!
For added refreshment place them inside the fridge for a few hours prior to use.
Now you only need to save 55Ç more this month!
Dinner time you say? Keep those greasy mitts off the hamburgers, fatty!
Say you're spending a 3 euros a night on an average meal, be it a frozen pizza, some hamburgers or a cheap steak, you're actually spending 90 Ç / month. This alone would pay for all your 6 characters.
From now on, we're eating on the cheap! A packet of "instant noodles" will set you back no more than 50 cents at a local supermarket. Now go to that frozen food section and pick up a huge bag of frozen wok vegetables. There you go that was only 5 euros for a bag that will last a week.
Now you're only spending, 37,50 Ç a month! Sure sure you won't have much variety, but you're getting all the essentials.
52,50 + 20 = 72,50
Hurray you only need 2,50Ç more!
The single requirement for this section is a hat.
Perch yourself against a wall near a local McDonalds establishment. Put your hat on the floor and ask passers by for money.
Here are a few suggestions as to what you can say :
"Spare change please mate"
"Pound for me dinner please mate"
Before you know it your hat will be filling up with coins. And if it's a busy day, you should have no trouble earning 2,50Ç in a few hours!
Now you have saved up an additional 75Ç a month and you can keep that network of pvp- and spy-alts running without shelling out any precious ISK!

Don't Eat on mondays, you litrially save 1/7th of your Food bill per year, which can then be spent on Subscription fees, and stuff from the Eve-store.
Edit= You'll also loose some weight, which you desperatly need todo

Sure the Sheriff's advice are pretty good if you intend on playing EVE with a tight budget. I know I'm going to get flammed for saying this but no matter how great or awesome EVE is (it is), once you start cutting into your basic daily and healthy needs. Stop.
EVE can be cut while basic necessities can not. Everyone is feeling the bite of the global recession but christ, stop EVE if you're cutting into your food bills.
As I'm reading this over again, I've got the feeling that I'm not supposed to take this seriously and this is tounge-in-cheek in nature.

I have been thinking a little...
What IS realle expensive? And what can you really abstain from for a while?
Lets see..
Electricity:
Between 11:00 and 12:00 Eve time: Always turn off all electricity in the house! Plus on Patch days you turn everything off! That should net you about: 360 hours a year + (2 x 24 hours) 48 hours = aprox 408 hours!!! If we say that 1 hour of electricity is worh... 50 cent? You will be saving aprox 204 dollar a year?
Beer:
1 beer less every week! Now, Lets say 48 weeks? We dont cut the beer on holidays! Something you need to have to celebrate! Anyway! Lets say 2 dollar a beer? We can save a wooping 96 dollar a year!
Girlfriend:
Abstain! Should save you a fortune! You can always enter monestary later on if EVE one day should pass away! The only exception to this is if your GF is so rich that you can live on her! Then you can quit your real job, spend that time on her instead between 8 and 4, and play as usual in the evening!
Im sure theres other great ideas out there still, and I will pass them all along as soon as I remember them!

Great plan, but won't work in USA. For examply a pack of smokes cost average $8 a pack. Bar costs can soar way higher than $100 american dollars. Though it might help a little I guess and was a funny ass read.! 10/10.
