If you join SA just for Goonswarm access you're doing it wrong. They tell you that right on that page. SA has been a pay forum (for full access) forever, as far as I know. It has been for at least the eight years I've known of the site. There's a difference between that and selling access to the alliance.

And just think of all those corps where you have to be RL friends with them to join. Man, I don't want to fly out to some other country just to join a corp - CCP should prevent them from making me spend money on plane tickets and force them to let me in!

You're not paying for access to the alliance, you're paying for access to Somethingawful.com which is a pay for membership site and has been forever. Joining the alliance costs no real life money, you pay for an external forum / site / service / whatever. If they charged you for joining the alliance, that were a different case. But external forums have nothing to do with CCP. Still this ain't the place to troll or whine, use your big red petition button and wait in the queue for a few weeks to get an answer.

And for some random reason, you'd want to join that alliance. You speak german, but you live in central china or something. Following your logic, this would be a pay-for-with-RL-money alliance, since moving to germany and living there costs money. Errr, no. Does not compute.
