So yeah. I got diplomacy and trained it to level 2 for a reason. I have a -5.74 standing with the khanids. I wouldnt care but I have to go through their space and I dont feel like being shot at.
Ladies and gentlemen if you do agent missions this may one day be your reward.
Anyway today I went though khanid space again today for the first time in forever, and low and behold, with my new polished standing of -4.48 with diplomacy to 2, I still got targetted and shot at.
I would like to ask why the skill does not work, and why is it even for sale if such is true? Seems pointless if it isnt going to help, and the only reason I bought it was so the khanids, in their infinite hospitality, would leave me the hell alone.
I would like this corrected please, and soon. I dont mean to be rude but this game has enough things that dont work.

-4.48 is enough to be shoted if i remember correctly, try train diplomacy to lvl4
btw those was 1 cruiser and 2 frigates and i was faster than those in industrial... or something was changed recently?

-4.48 should be fine, diplomacy skill hasnt worked for ages though.

Well I submitted a formal bug report thingy. I hope this gets fixed soon as it is an important issues, but we shall see how important it really is to the devs...

It's a bug. I've reported it too. When you have a standing of -5 or worse the faction's navy ships target and fire at you. Diplomacy skill doesn't change that.
However, I've got another question that's been bothering me for a while. I belive that you lose standing over time with the factions and corps, right? I haven't logged it so I'm not sure, but I think that it's only the factions with positive standing that decreases. The negative ones don't move. Is this correct or am I wrong?

However, I've got another question that's been bothering me for a while. I belive that you lose standing over time with the factions and corps, right? I haven't logged it so I'm not sure, but I think that it's only the factions with positive standing that decreases. The negative ones don't move. Is this correct or am I wrong?

Mangold, I don't think standing decay has worked at all for a long time now (positive or negative). As for the Diplomacy bug, a couple of my corpmates sent in bug reports about this months ago and it still isn't fixed so don't hold your breath.

Oh believe me I will keep breathing. Its not like anything old and buggy gets fixed. Only new buggy things are added and stuff that wasnt buggy before is changed to that it doesnt work right anymore...
I guess the diplomacy skill should not be out on the market if it doesnt apply itself. It would be nice if CCP wouldve stated that otherwise I wouldnt have wasted my time and isk.

that's wierd, i have a -8 standing to khanid, fly throught their space all the time and don't get attacked at all.
then again, maybe it's -8 to a certain corp and not faction....
no diplomacy skill at all.

Last night I had to go through Ammatar space to pick up some buy orders that had been filled ages ago, but hadnt come around to pick up yet.
My standing with ammatar is -5.04, (-2.63 with Diplomacy skill). I was a bit afk when travling and didn't think much of it. That is until I noticed armour damage on my industrial and these nice local navy boys fire at me.
I went through 0.9 to 0.7 sec space, they did spawn at every gate (and at stations I docked at). I don't think the diplomacy skill work as it should, no
