Edited by: Mordinn on 01/08/2009 01:08:06 Funny question...
If you run a Mission/Complex/Exploration corp, how do you go about fairly spiting up loot or ISK between fleet members?
I can't seem to figure it out...

If it is a corp OP for something specific like cores from a plex then all goes to corp.
But if we are doing group lvl4's or something to help them with standings we let the noobs follow along and salvage\loot as they want.

I usually give whoever found the site/accepted the mission first shot at good drops, generic loot is generally sold or reprocessed and the proceeds split evenly. As I have walked more than a few new players through the beginning of their eve life, I tend to favor newer chars in disputes as they often need things more. That said I also try to compensate the loser of the dispute in some way. Absolutely everything is subjective. |

We normally all have at least one beam fitted to haul in, someone salvages, we sift through, if there's something that might be useful we throw it out in the fleet/corp windows. Otherwise it all goes to the corp hangar for resale/refining. No argument, debate, etc... we're all pretty laid-back though.

ROFL, I quit my last corp. and started up my own due to loot greed and high tax. Was going to quit eventually cause I had the isk and standings for my own research pos's. just had to fast track that plan. good luck trying to figure out who gets what.
IMO I think any noobs are lucky to be in a fleet with me and they should be happy I even let them come along to split the bounties as I run with a killer Nightmare loadout about 4b+ isk. Also, considering I have a salvage alt. so they really not needed. Anyone else that isn't a noob should just run their own missions solo. Sensable thing to do is save all the loot to corp. hanger for times of war, need to build some caps, etc...

This method eliminates all headaches...
a) Bounties and LP are shared automatically by expedition members. If a participant is unable to collect a share of the bounties (salvager, for instance), then the bounty share is drawn from the corp. b) Meta 2 and above modules are given to the mission-owner, who can make the decision whether to distribute to others. c) Meta 1 and below modules are given to the corp for reprocessing/selling. d) Salvage is split between expedition members with the corp receiving the leftovers. e) Any exploration material, excluding salvage, is given to the corp. f) The corp should run like a business and provide periodic compensation to corp members (say, monthly dividends from the corp's take for the prior month).
Aside from splitting salvage equally, there is very little manual work involved at the end of the expedition. ---------------- Mutatis Mutandis |

This.
Eve isn't full of guilds, they're full of corporations. Employees get paid the world around; in-game shouldn't be different. For the guy up there who has a 4bn+ nightmare, that's what you call "self-employed." If your job is as a mission runner, and that's all you do in game....you don't need a corp. Your NPC corp can provide plenty of chat, and there's plenty of channels around with regular folks who you can socialize with. :) Tune into Eve-Radio. EOHPoker to gamble a few ISK away when you're bored. All sorts of opportunities.

Thanks for the replies.
Those ideas are great, thanks!
I still get paranoid about people not being honest. Could be the **** I smoke, though I guess that might come from flying together for a while as well.
But if I'm in a sweet complex and there is some crazy mod that drops, but I don't know about it...the wingman grabs it from the wreck...there's not really any way to know if that person is honest right?

If you are that concerned about your corp mates, perhaps you need a new corp.

Well, I'm starting to plan out and envision my own corp. So this was one of the questions that came up when I sat brainstorming.

It has been my experience that whenever something has to be given to the corp that requires a little bit of extra effort, people don't bother to do it. Or they do it and keep it for themselves.
The best corp I was in set up standard buy prices 5% under Jita for minerals/alloys/etc. and converted those into capital ships (we were in drones space). We made a ridiculous amount of ISK doing this - both individually and as a corp. Because the corp paid a good price for everything, everyone was encouraged to rat/mine as much as possible and sell them to the corp (rather than smuggling them out to empire, which is what happens when the corp prices suck).

The way we run it the corp buys everything @ Jita buy prices and shares are allocated based on ship types. If someone wants to handle their own logistics they can take their cut in items. This works for wormhole space where you have many items which are relatively low in value but high in volume. In theory it should work for a plex as well... corp just buys the items and sells at leisure.
Easy convention is a Battleship gets 1 share, capital 2 shares, analyzer/codebreaker gets an extra half share and the salvager gets an extra quarter share. Make a spreadsheet for ease of use and just edit the going prices for each op.

New players help shoot then we all loot salvage as we go. Who ever gets to it keeps it basicly.

Edited by: Coffin Fodder on 03/08/2009 04:29:44 I use a very simple system, everyone gets an equal cut. That said I may switch over to using everyone gets an equal cut except the prober, who gets double. The first system is fine since I don't take complete noobs with me. I only take those who can earn their share. And yeah, a single 2 week old character in a salvage destroyer can earn his share, but 4 of them in the gang can't. This mostly applies to sleeper plex's as the normal plex's I just run solo. I'm almost always the prober and often find myself spending a lot of time finding the plex's, hence my considering giving the prober 2 shares.
I am not a corp slave, I don't work for free and don't expect anyone else to either. Loot NEVER goes into corp assets for plex's. Tax's on it ok but never 100%, I draw the line at 15% tax and the corp must have significant assets at my disposal to make it worth while such as a POS in w-space I'm basing out of. I pity those who give all their stuff to their corp for no real reason.
Edit: Oh god damn it, for some reason it posted with faceless jita price checker alt. This be King Rothgar.

If I run a mission and take a newbie with me, he can snoop through the loot and take what he can use and wants. The rest that isn't best named or second best gets reprocessed if the newbie doesn't want it. Salvage however comes to me (as mission owner). But that goes to corp for rig production anyway and that in time will help the newbie out as well. For the rest they are always happy enough with the part of bounties they get.
If a newbie gets greedy however (haven't met many yet) they can find someone else to run missions with.
But with the sleeper AI on the horizon (at least I hope) it will be harder to bring those newbies with you on a lvl 4. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |
